Chapter 1 ~ Long live

   Sunday, May 5th 2024

I put in my AirPods and heard 'I said remember this moment' start to blase through my ears. I look out of the passenger seat of the car window and see my old house start to fall into the distastes.

"Emma?! Can you even hear me?...... Emma! Take out your AirPods!"

"Sorry that I couldn't hear you," I say kinda rudely as I take out my AirPod

"Yeah, I can tell. Anyways how are you feeling about this big move?"

    My mom got this big job offer in LA a couple of months ago for her to move down there and start working for fashion brands. She has been working for a lot of people to get to this point in her career. I mean don't get me wrong I am very happy that my mom got this opportunity to do what she has always dreamed of doing but, I don't want to leave home. I have lived in Ohio for my whole life and I don't want to leave. All I have done is complain about living there but now that I have to leave I just want to stay. Ohio is like the most boringest place in the world don't get me wrong, but that is where all of my friends are. I love all my friends to death and this was so hard to leave them behind.

    The hardest person to leave behind is my friend Abigail. I and Abigail have been friends since the 2nd grade. We've been friends for 9 years and have always been there for each other. Knowing that she'll be over 2,000 miles away makes me so sad. I don't remember a day that we have not seen each other. I and Abigail are the kind of people who you don't think are friends. We're complete opposites Abigail is the type of person who is always looking for a boyfriend and is always looking for another way for herself to be better than everyone.

You always kinda have to be on her side. She has lost so many friends because they didn't agree with her. All she does is talk about boys and shit-talk people. Once you leave she WILL start talking about you. She wears Lululemon and Nike Pros like every day and always has her nails done. She also has her hair straightened every day and wears a lot of highlighter and mascara. She is pretty much the definition of a basic white girl but I still love her though.

I have a lot of friends but Abigail is my favorite friend. I had a couple of boyfriends before and I had one before we moved but we broke up. I don't want a boyfriend right now. I like being able to just be free. I like bright colors and usually wear a lot of colors. I usually just wear a pair of jean shorts and a fun top or I wear a dress. I always put my hair in a claw clip and do a dewy makeup look. It's so weird though that I don't know the next day I will see her. I hope it won't be years but who knows.

"To be honest with you I am very excited to go to LA." That was a lie

"Really? That surprises me. Now I thought you hated it but I'm not complaining."

I laugh "Yeah I can't wait to see the new house."

"It looks like your room is way bigger than your old one. You can probably put in the vanity that you've been waiting to get and you will have plenty of room for all of your Taylor Swift crap."

"My Taylor Swift stuff is not crap! You know some of the stuff that I have some person would kill for like my collection."

"Why would someone even want all your stuff? I think if She never had gotten famous I could have retired by now."

I look at my mom "Why does someone need every addition of the Twilight movies?"

She looked at me in awe "Emma! You don't know how good Twilight is. I swear you need to watch a whole movie with me and then you can see how hot Jacob is!"

    My mom is a HUGE Twilight fan. I tried to watch the movies but I couldn't even finish the first one. I don't think you understand how many times I've tried to finish one movie. All of my friends have seen everyone and they say that gets way better the more you watch it. I mean I've watched the first hour of the first one way too many times and it doesn't seem like anything is getting better. To be honest it feels like it gets worse. But there probably right about they get better but I don't know.
