Alexa woke the next day to the smell of coffee and something sweet. It wafted into the bedroom through the open door as the riding sun beamed through the floor to ceiling windows. Alexa rolled to face toward the windows, taking in the beautiful view of the mountains surrounding them in the distance.
She took in the sights before her for a few long minutes before she forced herself out of the bed and slid on her panties as she eyed up one of her favorite t-shirts of Chris'. It was soft and just long enough to cover her ass. She'd worn it countless times in the past. At this point she was pretty sure he kept it around just for her to wear it, because he definitely loved seeing her in it too.
She padded over to the bathroom, running her hands through her messy hair before she hastily went through a quick get-ready-routine. When she finished, she walked out towards the large open living area and quickly caught Chris in her vision.
His broad, muscular back was to her as he hummed a song she couldn't quite discern, wearing just a pair of low riding boxer briefs as he flipped a pan full of sausage one by one.
"Morning, Sleepyhead," Chris chirped as he glanced over his bare shoulder towards Alexa walking up behind him.
"Good morning," Alexa replied sweetly as she closed the space between them. She leaned her cheek on his toned, muscular back and circled her arms around his narrow hips, slowly pushing her hands up his body to his chest.
Alexa kissed his shoulder and turned her head to rest against it again, "Pancakes and sausage? To what do I owe this pleasure?"
"Well, I wanted us to pack on a big breakfast...cause I wanted to see if you would be interested in a hike."
Alexa hesitated. She loved running. But hiking? She hadn't done that in years.
Chris must have saw the flit of debate cross her face, because he fully turned to face her, wrapping his arms around her to hold her close.
"I promise I'll make it worth your while," Chris smirked, before he leaned down to kiss her. First, a few pecks, but slowly morphing into more.
"Mm. You're very persuasive."
"I'd like to think so."
Chris continued kissing Alexa, low and slow, languidly letting his tongue meet hers.
"You know what also you're good at?"
"Hmm?"
Alexa got up on her toes so she could whisper close to his ear, "Burning our sausage."
Alexa watched panic momentarily flood Chris' eyes as he turned around, "Shit."
He quickly turned off the range and moved the pan, luckily saving the majority of the sausage that had been left to fend for itself moments earlier.

An hour later, after breakfast, Chris had packed up a bag, and him, Alexa, and Dodger were headed out the door. They followed a small worn path through the thick, beautiful trees around them. They occasionally hopped over small creeks and fallen trees, taking their time wandering the ever quiet wood around them.
Alexa watched as Dodger was taken over by a full fledged round of zoomies, running quickly back and forth in front of them as they walked at a leisurely pace. Whatever their destination was that Chris was so ecstatic about, Alexa noticed quickly that Chris wasn't in a rush. She kept in time with him as Dodger ran on and off the path around them.
"This is beautiful, Chris."
"It really is. I'm so glad you could come up here...even under—"
Alexa didn't need him to finish his sentence. She knew exactly what he was about to say.
