Four days passed by without a word. It was almost excruciating having to wait four damn days, not knowing what had fully happened to her. But here Alexa was, her phone ringing in her hand. She had been waiting what seemed like forever and yet now she couldn't will herself to answer the phone.

"Baby? You gonna answer?" Chris asked tentatively, sitting on the couch next to her with Dodger strewn across his lap.

Alexa was pulled from her worried daze and hit accept, immediately putting it on speaker before answering, "Hello?"

"Hi there, is this Alexa Davis?"

"This is she."

"Hi again, this is Olivia from SVSA, how are you?"

"I've been okay."

"Good, good. Well, If we wanna get right to it, your S.A.F.E. is finally back. I'm very happy to say all of your results came back negative. It looks like Chris had gotten there in time to stop anything from happening."

Alexa's body seemed to freeze, at least it felt like it had.

Negative.
Nothing happened.

Alexa felt like she could fucking cry, but god she really wanted to get through this phone call.

"Th-thank you, Olivia." Alexa wiped the heel of her hand against her eye, "I really appreciate the h-hard work you guys do at the SVSA."

"Of course. This is why we're here," Olivia replied. Alexa could hear the smile that appeared on her face, "To help in any way we can, no matter what the exam results.

"We will mail you your results now that everything is completed along with an envelope full of extra copies of the results in case you ever wish to pass it along to the police. Just because a sexual assault didn't happen doesn't mean you weren't still assaulted and given rohypnol without your consent."

Alexa nodded at first, before replying, "Right."

Chris laced his fingers with Alexa's and rested both their hands in her lap.

"If there is anything else we can do for you, please don't hesitate to call us, okay, Alexa?"

"Absolutely. Thank you so much, Olivia."

"You're very welcome. Have a great rest of the day." Olivia replied.

"You too, buh-bye."

"Bye."

Alexa hung up the phone and looked at Chris, tears welling in her eyes. She leaned into his chest and he immediately wrapped his arms around her, kissing the top of your head.

"Thank you, Chris." Alexa said quietly against his bare chest, feeling a tear slide down her cheek, "If you didn't get there when you did..." her thought died off, trying not to think about it.

"I wish I could've got there sooner, sweetheart." Chris said, running his hand through her hair. "God, I wanted to beat him to a pulp..."

"Well, I'm glad you didn't," Alexa said, twisting Chris' necklace around her fingers idly. "I don't need you in jail over something avoidable. You know I like a bad boy, but not that kinda bad." Alexa chuckled wetly, trying to shake away the tension.

Chris laughed in return, pulling Alexa in a little tighter for a hug, "I love you, pretty girl."

Alexa hummed against his chest, still curled in tight, "I love you too."

Alexa moved away for a moment so she could turn and face Chris. She leaned in close to him, her face inches from his, "Chris?"

"Yeah, baby?" Chris replied, still holding her gaze.
