TLH2: Chapter 46

Erin's POV

This is it. It's finally our wedding day. I glanced at the mirror once more to see myself while being dolled up by my chosen Hair and Makeup Stylists.

Who would've thought that this day will come? After all the things that had happened, we're finally on this stage again. Sabi nga nila sa hinaba-haba ng prusisyon, sa simbahan din ang bagsak namin.

"Erin, anak. You're eating again?"

Napalingon ako sa nagsalita sabay ang pag-ngiti ko ng alanganin.

"Yeah, Mom. " I awkwardly laughed.

My mom is looking suspiciously at me from head to toe. She's still wearing her robe with curlers on her hair.

"Anak, be honest with me." Mom said

Bigla naman akong kinabahan sa way ng pagsasalita ni Mommy. I gulped. Wala pa kasi sa family namin ang nakaka-alam na buntis ulit ako. We planned to keep it hidden until the Reception later as a surpise to them. Ivan and our son, Ivo are the only ones exempted of course. Yun nga lang, at Ivo's age, it's a challenge for us to keep him quiet about this good news. And mabuti nalang matalino ang anak ko and he kept it to himself and waited for this day.

"Are you nervous?" Mom asked and I felt relieved.

I smiled at her. "Uhm, kinda? It's gonna be my first time to walk down the aisle, Mommy."

Lumapit sa akin si Mommy with an awed expression and placed her hand on my shoulder. We both looked at the mirror.

"It's gonna be alright, darling. Been there done that." Mom chuckled and I can see tears forming in her eyes.

And because of this pregnancy hormones, nahahawa na din ako kay Mommy. I held her hand on my shoulders.

"I'm glad you're here, Mom. You, Dad, my siblings, Mama and Papa to be with me on this special day." I said and my tears started pouring.

Tears also failed Mom. Umiiyak na din ito.

"Me too, sweetheart. I can't believe my second-born is getting married."

Natawa kami parehas. Kumuha si Mommy ng tissue and also gave me one. I patted it on my face para hindi naman ma-smudged yung make-up ko na halos dalawang oras ginawa.

"Naku, ang mag-ina talaga. Nakakahawa kayo."

Sabay kami napalingon ni Mommy sa nagsalita. I smiled at her and stretched my hand for her. Malugod naman niya itong tinanggap at lumapit na din ito sa amin.

"Mama naman. Ang make-up natin masisira na."

Kaming tatlo ay natawa at sabay-sabay na suminghot. Totoo ngang napaka-emosyonal pagdating sa kasal.

"Oo nga at napakamahal pa naman nito." Mama

Our laughters filled the room. We're here at the Karson Hotel, one of the Clarkson Family's hotels. Dito namin napagdesisyunan ang mga preparations para sa kasal. Kahapon pa kami nag-checked in. And as tradition, Ivan and I have separate rooms. Hindi rin kami nagkikita pa simula kahapon but he is still texting and calling to check on me.

I'm standing at the closed door of the Church waiting for it to open. Some of Raffy's team are at my side to make sure everything is in placed.

Mabibigat na paghinga ang ginagawa ko habang naghihintay. Totoo ngang nakakakaba ito. I feel like my feet are stucked on the ground and my heart is beating so fast. I can feel sweats in my hands that I tried to wiggle it away dahil baka masira ang napakagandang bouquet personally made by my Mom. She also designed my wedding gown.
