TLH2: Chapter 48

Ivan's POV

8 months later

"When are you coming home?"

I rested my head on the swivel chair and massaged my temple.

"I'll be home soon, babe"

"Can't you come home early? I miss you."

I closed my eyes and had a deep breathe. And when I opened them, I looked around the view here in the office then glanced at my watch.

"Babe, have you eaten already?" I asked para mabago yung pag-uusap namin.

"Yeah, kanina pa. Ivan, you didn't answer my question."

Natawa ako sa isip ko. I can imagine her frowning. Eunica has been calling me every other hour just to ask when I am coming home. And ngayon? Pang-lima niya na atang tawag ito.

I just keep on answering it dahil if not, she might burst into my office again and make me come home. She did that once, I was just caught up in a meeting that I forgot to answer her because I left my phone in my office. I can still remember her face that day. At wala ako nagawa kundi ikansela yung meeting na 'yun because my pregnant wife is about to cry so loud.

Napapailing ako. Eunica is on her third trimester already. Ilang weeks nalang and we will be welcoming our twins. For the past 8 months, madami na din ang nangyari. I was able to build a CLS branch here in London, Ivo already went back to school while Eunica started to work from home. Iyon na din naman ang gusto ko para sa kanya. Para hindi na din sya mapagod kakabiyahe papunta sa opisina.

We're almost finish with our house in Philippines. It's a bit difficult because we were just having a zoom meeting with Luke and our other contractors. May tiwala naman ako rito na magiging maganda 'yung outcome ng bahay.

After Eunica gives birth, siguro mga ilang buwan lang ay babalik na din kami sa Pilipinas to settle permanently.

"Ivan"

My mind went back to reality when I heard her voice.

"Baby, it's only half of the day. Don't worry, I'll bring something home for you. What do you want?" Pag-iiba ko muli.

"Hmm.. I want.."

I imagine her eyes wondering on what to eat. Ever since she got pregnant, I always make sure to buy her something before going home.

"What, babe?"

There's a slight silence. I thought she dropped the call kaya tinignan ko 'yung phone ko but we are still connected. I placed it back on my ear.

"Eun—-"

"I want you, babe. Please come home."

Napatigil ako sa pagsasalita na dapat when she speaks. I sighed. My wife is getting clingy again. She's always like that. Pinaglilihian ata ako.

"Baby, I will, okay? Soon. Babalik na ako sa work para makauwi na ako, ha?"

I heard her sighed. "Alright then. Drive safely kapag pauwi ka na."

"I will. I love you." I said sweetly to her because I have a feeling na nagtatampo na ito.

"K" 

Then she hungs up the phone.

I shook my head. Tama nga ako, her pregnancy hormones are so high again. Mabuti at ilang weeks nalang she'll go back to normal na. But I enjoy this pregnancy journey of us. We had this before pero I was so busy with work kaya hindi ko na napagtutuunan ng pansin siya dati. Kaya heto ngayon, bumabawi ako and I am happy that I did.
