TLH2: Chapter 45

Right after I went out of her room, I immediately grabbed my things inside mine, took a quick shower and went to my car. I started the engine and made my way back to Manila.

I need to see her. I don't want to waste another day not fixing this. Also, this arrangement we had for our son is not healthy. I don't want him to grow up thinking his parents are not in good terms. I grew up with a complete and loving family and I want that for Ivo to experience it because that's what he deserves.

I don't know what time I woke up earlier but all I know is that the sun is already shining it's very best. I glanced at my watch, it's almost four in the afternoon already. Can't believe I have slept half of the day. Damn, inom pa Ivan.

But I don't want to think of anything else. My mind is only focused on Eunica and us fixing this. I have a feeling that she will finally welcome me back.

At 6:30PM, I reached the Sander's Mansion. I was about to take a turn to get inside their big gate when I saw a familiar car that is going inside too. The guard saluted to the driver and it went inside. When it's my turn, the guard greeted me as well. I rolled down my window.

"Guard, sino 'yung unang dumating kanina?"

The guard moves forward and slightly leaned.

"Ah! Si Ms. Erin po 'yun, sir."

I knew it looked familiar. I thanked the guard and head my way inside. Saan naman nanggaling si Eunica? It's a Sunday. Where could she go? I shrugged my thoughts on it. It doesn't matter. What matter is I know she is already here in their house.

Halos sabay lang kami tumigil ni Eunica sa harap ng main door nila. I saw her got out of the car first then ng makita na may kasunod ito, her eyes widenend and it's my cue to get out of the car.

Our eyes met and her face became pale. Okay? That's not the reaction that I am expecting her when she sees me. I walked towards her.

"I-Ivan." She said to me when I was inches away from here.

There's a question mark in my head on the way she is acting but I just shake that thought off.

"Eunica."

I saw her throat went up then down. "Uhm, w-what are you doing in here? You just got Ivo, 'di ba? A-are you going to fetch him again?"

Her voice is shaking, I can feel it. But the 'v' on my forehead formed with what she is acting.

"No. I came here to see you."

Napaiwas ito ng tingin. "Bakit?"

I tried catching her eyes but she keeps on looking away. What's her problem?

"I-I just came here to give you this." Then I hand her the pouch that she left in her room. "You left it in your room."

She looks at it then grabbed the pouch from my hand. Then she looked at me.

"Oh? How did you find this?"

Bigla ay napahawak ako sa batok ko. I felt somehow ashamed of myself.

"Uh, I was in your room last night, right?"

"Yeah, you were. You don't remember, do you?" She said and I felt like I am being scolded.

"Sorry, I don't actually. But thanks to that pouch, I knew I was."

She sighed. "Ivan, don't do that again. What if you didn't went to my room? What if something bad happened to you? Or worst case, you got into someone else's room"

I was taken aback when she scolded me like a child. But at the same time I feel she still cares for me. A smile formed on my face. It looks like she realized what she just said.
