Thomas opened the door. There was a scary silence. In front of us, was a hallway, bright lights, white walls, gray floors.

We walked into the hallway. It was long on each side.

"What is the place?" Frypan asked.

"Come on." Thomas said.

He took the right side of the hallway. We walked cautiously. We had no idea where we were and it was pretty scary.

I held onto Newts hand and Chuck held onto mine.
Newt squeezed my hand. We were soon met by another door. This time Minho opened it. When we walked through the door, there were dead bodies.

They look like they'd been shot. The place looked like a control room of some sorts. I could smell the blood and I wanted to throw up.

We looked around. Thomas was looking at a screen. He pressed a red button. We all jumped when a lady popped up onto the screen. She was sitting down, wearing white, red lipstick, blue eyes, blonde hair pulled into a tight bun.

She started to talk.

"Hello, my name is Doctor Ava Paige," we all looked at her with confusion, "Im Direct of Operations of the World Catastrophe Killzone Department." She said.

"W.C.K.D. Wicked." Chuck said.

She continued,

"If you're watching this, that means you've successfully completed the Maze Trials. I wish I could be there in person to congratulate you...but circumstances seem to have prevented it. I'm sure by now, you must all be very confused, angry, frightened. I can only assure you that everything that's happened to you, everything we've done to you, it was all done for a reason." She said.

"Better be a dam good reason." Winston scoffed.

She continued,

"You won't remember, but the sun has scorched our world. Billions of lives lost to fire, famine, suffering on a global scale. The fallout was unimaginable. What came after was worse. We called it the Flare, a deadly virus that attacks the brain." She said.

A video of this zombie looking thing popped up onto the screen. It was struggling against restraints. I looked away into newts shoulder. He pulled me in.

She continued,

"It is violent, unpredictable... incurable - or so we thought. In time, a new generation emerged that could survive the virus. Suddenly, there was a reason to hope for a cure, but finding it would not be easy. The young would have to be tested, even sacrificed, inside harsh environments, where the brain activity could be studied all in an effort to understand what makes them different - what makes you different." She said.

A tear rolled down my face.

"You begun. As you'll no doubt soon discover, not everyone agrees with our methods. Progress is slow, people are scared. It may be too late for us... for me... but not for you. The outside world awaits. Remember: Wicked is good."

She grabbed a gun and shot herself in the head. Some of us turned away. The video closed out.

I saw something out of the corner of my eye.

"Guys..." I said.

I walked to a window and there she was. Ava Paige. She was laying in the floor in a pool of her own blood. I couldn't take it anymore. I threw up.

Newt rubbed my back and held my hair back.

"Let it all out." He said.

When I finished Thomas saw an exit sign.

"Guys." He pointed at the sign.

There were sighs of relief.

"Let's get out of here." Minho said.

We were about to walk out when suddenly...
