I FELL IN HATE WITH YOU

Chapter Five

Amara

 Yesterday, Ma announced she was proposed for marriage. but clarified that it was a joke from the college. The new boss tasted her cooking and said "Will you marry me? This is amazing I want to have this every day." My mom was surprised but understood the joke.

We teased her a little about it by the time we went in, the kids were asleep. I took them to bed and one more day went by with us holding everything together like it's normal.

The next day when I entered school I saw Abby and Anna in the parking they said that we don't have the first class. so I went to the library to get books for my literature assignment.

I see a notice outside the library that help is needed after school. Our librarian is old and the previous assistant was a senior now graduated.

I know it's nothing big but the only thing I love is books so this is excellent. I went to the librarian with the flyer.

"I would like to take this job," I said to her

"There are other students who applied too we need one assistant only. So we will see who shows up after school" she said through the rim of her glasses.

"Thank you," I said and left. I need to get a phone and this job will get me that with just rearranging shelves and reading books.

By the end of the day, I hurry up to the library to get my job. Thankfully nobody showed up. I got the job. She told me I'll be working every day for one hour after school sometimes extend based on the requirements and detentions.

Since I work now I can't go home with Asiya and Jahaan. When I get to their school I find no one.  

 So I head home to find that these two little angels have cleaned the home. After cleaning Asiya is making instant noodles for them when I entered. It was bliss and I suddenly felt relaxed.

"Assalamu Alaikum Aapa, I'm making noodles I'll add one more of you," she said loud from the kitchen. "Walaikum Asslam" I greet back I hurry to my room freshen up and get back to the living room. To find hot ramen waiting with two children holding spoons and waiting for me.

We sit and eat.

"I got a job as an assistant librarian at school" I inform them while eating.

"Won't you be exhausted from school for a job?" Asiya asked.

"But it is good to have some pocket money, Siya," I said

"Will you buy us chocolates when you make a lot of money?" Jahan asked. "Sure, I will if you are a good boy," I say

"Jahan it is very small money, let's not burden her," She said to which Jahan went quiet thinking if he can ask anything else. I should have said something but she was right.

"So you can't come with us from now?" Jahaan questions changing the topic. "No, Sweetie I don't think we can," I answer.

We continue to sit together doing homework and cartoons. It is true that time heals everything. They have finally started accepting the way things are and I like having them here more than anything.

The new routine is working out quite well for all of us. for the past three months that we lived together. Things have changed we are having fun now. We play games on the weekend and we have done gardening in our small yard. Asiya loves art she has done some amazing paintings. I got my third month's pay today. It is not much but I could get a phone finally.

So I took a few things to my family with my money. I bought a scarf for Ma, Zara I got shoes she liked, For Asiya and Jahan I got art supplies and chocolates.
