Rohail
We return to the party. On the driveway I text her. I intentionally left my blazer with her. Another excuse to see her again.
"Seems like you took back a sovereign again." I received no response.
"You like her right?" Ayan probed.
"Yes. A lot." I confessed. There was no point in denying I don't want anyone near her, including Ayan. I'm weirdly possessive about her. This new feeling was established due to him. His expression turned concerned.
"Bro, Be careful. She is more damaged on the inside than what she looks on the outside." Ayan said like he knew her well than me. It could be true. He is got a lot of friends. He knows almost half the town. As much as it burns me they both started their friendship on a good note.
"Why do you say that?" I ask.
"Her family is a wild circus, I think hardly people are even related to each other, but they live under one roof." I raise my brows not expecting something to come out of his mouth when clearly he was super friendly with her.
"How do you know that and doesn't that bother you?" I question directly. I want to know everything about her. If it makes me pathetic in front of my friend I don't care.
"I did my research. No, it doesn't bother me. Once you know her you will know how silly and crazy she is. then it becomes difficult to judge her."
My jealousy kicks in. But I don't show. "Thanks for the heads up bro. Never judged anyone. Never will."
When we returned to Zack's place, the party was still booming. Girls were pooling out of the place. No one was half as beautiful compared to her. Her bare shoulder made me excited more than seeing anyone strip dance.
There are million moments in life that people would rewind just to live again. If I could I would rewind this time every waking moment to live this night again. I would.
We spend the rest of the night at Zacks's place. Half of them were drunk and the other half were stoned.
When we woke up the next morning we had a mess to clean. Zack's brother use to hire people for clean up, but Zack doesn't he likes us suffering. we have no plans anyways. He plays The Weekend in the background while we clean the whole mess. He had two helpers and we helped him. Ended up chilling at his pool by the end of the day.
Bringing back all the memories from last night. I kept checking my phone for a reply. Which she did in the evening.
She will return the blazer when we come for the results of our college applications. In about a week I will see her again. My inside dances at the sound of her presence.
I text her asking.
Me: Are you a thief?
Akhira: What do you mean?
Me: Because you have stolen something that's mine.
Akhira: I didn't steal your blazer. Rohail.
Me: You did steal my breath away.
I replied it was a lame attempt at a pickup line. I would do anything to cling on to her.
Akhira: You are such a flirt. Even that's a sin.
She must be god-fearing. I like that but am I wrong if I want to corrupt her too?
Me: Do you always talk like that?
Akhira: Like what?"
Me: Like the angels on your arms who keep counting deeds?
Akhira: Haha, Kiraman-Katibeen.
