I heard a knock at my front door and I jumped, "One second!" I finished putting on my diamond and gold studded earrings and straighten out my shirt before huffing and running down my stairs. I heard voices talking in the living room, and when I turned the corner I saw my mom perched on the couch. JJ stood with a fake smile on his face, fooling my mom into thinking he was a good kid.
I shook my head and cleared my throat, "Oh hey, kitty." My mom smiled at me and I glared at her and looked at JJ after the nickname left her mouth.
"Okay... well. Have fun." My mom nodded understandingly and I smiled kissing her cheek before turning back to JJ. A stupid smirk splayed on his lips. I sighed and walked past him, out of the front door. I looked around for JJ's car but there was nothing in the driveway, or on the side of the street.
"Come on, Cat." He poked fun at me and grabbed a motorcycle helmet off of my front porch. I pointed at it suspiciously.
"It's Kitty... technically. You have a motorcycle?" I asked timidly. He smiled and nodded.
"Yeah... um, I don't think so." I winced as we started walking down the porch, to the side of my house where I finally saw his bike.
"You'll be fine. Don't you trust me?" His teeth grazed against his bottom lip and I squinted up at him.
"Are you dumb? Of course, I don't trust you." I scoffed and walked toward the bike, grabbing the extra helmet he had hanging off the handle and sliding it over my head. "Come on. We don't have all night." I tried to mask my fear as he gave me an impressed smile and put on his own helmet.
I took a deep breath as he climbed onto the bike in front of me. JJ looked back at me, the visor of his helmet was pushed up so our eyes could meet, "Ready?"
"Nope." I sighed and swung my leg over the seat. He quickly repositioned my legs, my thighs were tight around his waist. I took a few deep breaths so I didn't freak out and started frustrated-crying. He reached back and grabbed my hands, forcing them around his waist.
"You'll thank me later." He said simply and I didn't have the guts to argue with him as he started the two-wheel death machine.
He pulled out of my driveway slowly and as we got closer to the main road he picked up speed. I squeezed my arms tighter around him and dug my nails into the fabric of his shirt. My head was deeply nestled into his back, which I am reluctant to say was muscular...but it was. I could feel the vibration of his laugh as we stopped at a traffic light.
"Watch the sunset. It'll make you feel better I promise." He said over the rumbling engine. I nodded and looked up from his back. The sun was every color you could think of, beautiful purples and oranges made me feel like I was looking at cotton candy.
He added gas as the traffic light turned green and I flinched softly, regaining my grip around him. I watched the sunset as he told me to, we made our way to the south side and the sun was barely over the horizon. My hands rested gently on the curves of his back and he took a turn into a hidden driveway.
The engine stopped revving and I sighed as I got off the bike, quickly taking off the helmet. "That wasn't so bad was it?" He stepped off his bike and looked down at me.
"I guess." I lied and avoided his eyes as he took both of our helmets and set them on the seat of the motorcycle. What he won't ever find out was how relaxed his advice made me... if I wasn't with the world's biggest player I might have dozed off.
"Ready to meet the pogues?" He smiled and I gave him an amused laugh until I realized he was serious.
"Oh... I thought that was like the tip-toe conversation." I laughed at his facial expression.
