Ryoku gently pulled the covers over the sleeping Ochako, smiling at the steadiness of her breathing. She's going to make it. She sighed contently. She flinched when she heard the sliding door open. When she turned towards the door she let out a shaky breath.
"You scared the crap out of me." Ryoku chuckled. "Why didn't you knock?"
"I didn't think I'd have to knock on my own office door." Recovery girl turned to Uraraka. "How is she?"
"Stable and breathing normal, and the color is returning to her face." Ryoku swept the hair from the girl's face to the side.
"How were you able to save her?" Recovery girl asked. "She was nearly dead."
Ryoku's eyes shadowed over. "Oh you know... a new trick I learned. Thanks to my adrenaline quirk I was able to find the route of the problem. I know it doesn't make sense but..." She smiled nervously. "Just trust me on this."
Thanks to Recovery girls incredible poker face, Ryoku wasn't able to tell whether she bought it or not. She didn't have time to deduct because the principal walked in.
"I heard the news that Uraraka is recovering." Nezu smiled. "What a relief."
Ryoku cleared her throat. "You have me to thank, I know a thing or two about the human body."
"Do you now..." Nezu tilted his head to the side. "Then maybe I should assign you as Recovery girls nursemaid instead of student teacher."
"That won't be necessary." Ryoku replied rather quickly. "But if you do need any help with a patient, don't hesitate to call me."
Recovery girl glanced her squinted eyes between the two of them. "Thank you for your kind words. I'll... consider it."
"I have to go now. I have to tell Aizawa the good news." She rushes past the two of them and slid the door behind her.
And stood there for a full minute.
They're onto me. She grit her teeth. It doesn't matter, what's done is done. The Principal knows there's no benefit to exposing me now. By the time he devises a plan, it'll be too late. She began walking to class. Words can't express how sorry I am, girlie. It was the only way to save you, so I hope you'll forgive me.
"Hey!"
Ryoku returned from her thoughts and saw Bakugo panting in front of her. Did he run all the way back up here?
"She won't die..." He repeats over and over. "She's not dead! She's gonna make it. Tell me she's gonna make it!" His eyes were like sharp daggers. She could tell by his face that the next words that came out of her mouth would either kill her or break him.
She smiled softly. "She did."
The look in his eyes changed, letting those two words sink in.
Ryoku felt a gust of wind fly past her, and Bakugo was gone.
"Did she actually?" Aizawa asked.
"Yes. She's going to fully recover."
Aizawa frowned. "That sounds too good to be true."
Ryoku smiling and brushed past him. "That's what we call a miracle."
~
As soon as Ryoku slid the door open to class, shouting erupted.
"Then it's settled!" Iida hit the chalk against the board so hard he snapped the poor thing. "We will do a PLAY!"
The class erupted into shouts and cheers.
