Liberation of Childhood

Guilts and regrets of childhood
Aren't always childish things,
Until we heal.

Sadness of childhood
Isn't something childish that one holds.

Unhealed wounds of childhood
Aren't the spider webs of a child.
Rather, they are the grief inside that child's mind
Until he/she doesn't heal.

Though it takes time to heal,
Let them take chances to heal.

Chances for them by listening to their sorrows.
Chances for them by letting them grieve on our shoulders.
Chances for them to heal by complaining
About all that has happened to them
That they have never spoken out.

For once, let them grieve.
For once, let them complain.
For once, let them live their sorrows.
For once, let us listen to them in silence,
And pat them on their back.

Let's, for a while, say:
"It is okay not to be okay."
As they'll eventually find their way,
And journey towards healing.

Let us not tell them words of bravery,
Or how much luckier they are
For whatever they have.

Let's, for a while, just listen to them.
And set them free to explore life.
Set them free to see the world from their eyes.
Set them free to know what they have
And what they own.

For some people, childhood was a treasure
They walked out of.
So, set them free to make mistakes and learn.

For some people, childhood was a nightmare
They walked out of.
So, let them live through their grievances,
And explore the world to live in it.
