I turned my head fast at the sound of footsteps. After a while, I saw Abby appear. I saw Crystal's body too, making me remember where my priorities should be. I ran to Crystal and kneeled down in front of her body. I held her face up with my hands. She felt freezing cold. My eyes began to well up with tears. "Crystal, please don't leave me too." My voice cracked as I pleaded with her to stay. I didn't hear a single heartbeat. All I heard was Abby's voice from a distance. "I used this ice trail to get across while I was going for a walk. I'm glad he's taken care of. Thank you all!" She said to Sasha because she was the only one available to listen. I couldn't believe it. Abby is thanking us for killing her brother while I am crying over my cousin's death. I can't go home to Uncle Carl like this. I sobbed, running my fingers across the necklace Crystal made to save my life. Maybe this will save her. I snatched the necklace off of my neck and put it on Crystal. I saw a healing green light as Crystal eventually woke up and I heard her heartbeat again. "Sara?" Crystal said weakly. My face lit up. "Crystal I'm so glad you're alive!" I yelled with joy while hugging her. "I'm sorry for what I said at home. I was just worried and I didn't mean a word I said." She said. I smiled as I said "Don't worry-" I groaned in pain as my wounds opened again. Blood began to drip onto the ground from different places in my body. Crystal's eyes widened as she saw my injuries. "Oh no! You shouldn't have sacrificed yourself like that for me!" She said with a worried expression. She tried to heal me through touch, but she was too weak to heal me. When she removed her hand from my leg she had blood on her hand. I passed out right in front of her after she screamed my name repeatedly.
I woke up in a hospital. "Oh good, you're awake!" The doctor said. She looked very similar to Sasha except she had brown eyes instead of red. I looked down at my body and saw that I had stitches over my wounds. "I'm Dr. Miller, my daughter Sasha told me about you. You're a great friend to her." "Is she okay?" I asked. "Yes and she's waiting to see you along with your family." Dr. Miller reassured me. She left the room to tell everyone that I was okay. I overheard Crystal talking to Uncle Carl from the other room. "How come I always randomly think of mom, even when I don't want to?" Crystal asked. "That's completely normal. It's because you miss her." Uncle Carl said. Crystal sighed "When Sara saved me, she looked just like her. It made me miss her all over again." "It's okay. The best thing we could do is cherish the memories we had with her and don't ever forget about her." Uncle Carl said. "Hey, she's awake if you are ready to see her." Dr. Miller said. "Thanks, mom." Sasha said as they all headed to my room. I began to tear up as I remembered that I don't have parents to lean on. Everyone rushed in and smiled when they saw me. "Hey guys!" I said, quickly wiping my tears away. "You're okay!" Sasha yelled with joy. "Sara!" Uncle Carl and Crystal yelled as Crystal tried to hug me. I guess I was wrong. I do have people to lean on. I noticed that the necklace that I put on her wasn't there anymore. "What happened to your necklace?" I asked. "The healing crystals absorbed into my body." Crystal replied. "Dr. Miller said you can leave tomorrow, so I'll pick you up then." Uncle Carl said. I nodded and we all said goodbye to each other. The next morning Uncle Carl came as promised so we could go home. When we walked in the door, I was welcomed with a hug from Sasha and Crystal. Sasha began to visit weekly, and we took a vow to not hide who we are anymore. The world just needs to learn to accept us.
