I saw the same woman in my dreams as I did the first night that I spent with Uncle Carl. "Mom? Where's dad?" I asked. We were underwater so she couldn't breathe or speak, but I could. I began to scream. "Mom?! Mom?!" She looked unwell. I panicked more and more. I woke up sweating. I was in my bed back at the house and it was pitch black outside. I got out of bed and went downstairs. "Oh, hey Sara. Are you all, right? Crystal healed your bullet wounds." Uncle Carl said. I felt very overwhelmed and needed fresh air. "I need to go for a walk." I said. "Okay be safe." Uncle Carl said. I walked out the door and walked until I reached where Abby lives. I climbed over the gate to get into the lake in front of her house to cool off. I submerged my head into the lake to calm down. After a few minutes, I began to cry. "What if they are dead?" I said to myself in tears. After half an hour, I got out of the lake and began to climb back over the gate. Just then I heard Abby's front door open. I flinched. Was it Abaddon? To my relief, it was Abby. "Sara what are you doing here? What happened to your clothes?" She asked. I had to think of an excuse. " Uhh... I fell...in the lake...while I was going for a walk." "At 10:00 PM?" Abby asked with a raised eyebrow. I tried to change the subject. "What are you doing here? Outside of your house I mean." "I was actually looking for you. It's about your parents." My heart dropped. "Where are they? Are they all, right?" I asked trying to catch my breath. "They didn't make it. The lake was just too deep for them to swim back up in time after you all fell in. I'm so sorry." I dropped to my knees. "No..." I said as I started to cry again. "I did more research on the situation and came to look for you. I have to go now. Alex and Abaddon would be upset if they found me speaking to you. I'm sorry for your loss." Abby patted my shoulder then went to the house. I felt paralyzed. This means that all my flashbacks and nightmares were true. This might be a sign that I am regaining my memories. The sound of footsteps snapped me out of my trance. Was it Abby again? By the time I looked up the man was standing right in front of me. He was very tall with brown hair and had an all-white outfit on. "How could a young girl like you be out so late?" Maybe he is a family member I haven't met yet. Or he could be one of Uncle Carl's friends. "Who are you?" I sniffled. "I heard about your parents." He said. He completely dodged my question. "How do you know about them?" I asked in frustration because of his vague responses. "I just know. I can't help you if you know about me because everyone will be coming to me for help." He responded. I guess that's why he stays mysterious. "How could you help me?" I asked. The mysterious man smiled. "I can bring your parents back... You just have to help me help you." He said. He extended his hand to help me up. I took his hand to stand up. "What do you need from me?" I asked. "Follow me and I'll show you." He said as he started walking past Abby's house. It wasn't long until Uncle Carl tried to find me. "Sara it's time to come home. I'll give you a ride home." I shook my head and kept walking. He kept following us and I began to feel annoyed. The man leaned towards me. "You might have to shoot him with water." He whispered. I looked at him then looked back at Uncle Carl. Even though I was annoyed I didn't want to hurt him. I aimed my hands at the front of the car and frosted it so that he couldn't see. He slammed his hand on the steering wheel in frustration. "Sara this isn't funny! Get this ice off of my window now!" He yelled. I walked over to his car. He rolled the window down that wasn't frosted by me yet. I lean towards that window. "Stay away from us." I said. Uncle Carl was hesitant, then he realized that there's no sense in arguing with me. He sighed. "Just be careful."I went back with the man, and we walked until we saw a lab. The door was labeled with "Mutants access only". "I need more power in order to bring back your parents. Can you help me get inside?" The man said. I looked at the doorknob which had a barrier around it. "This is for my parents." I reminded myself quietly as I turned the doorknob and went inside with the man following behind me. The door closed behind us. I looked around and saw devices all around the lab. The devices look like they are used to exchange powers with other people. "Do these work?" I asked the man, still looking at the devices in the lab. "Why don't you find out?" He smiled. I nodded and sat in a chair with one of the devices hooked up to it. The man sat in the chair next to me where the other end of the device is. I turned the switch next to me on. I felt the device take some of my powers away, giving it to the man instead. "Okay... Now what?" The man stood up and took a device from his pocket. He pressed a button on his device, and I watched as he turned into a new person. It's Abaddon! "Now I can control time!" Abaddon said with an evil grin. I rushed out of my chair, but Abaddon grabbed my arms as soon as I got up. I struggled to get out of his grasp and shot water at him. I ran out of the lab while Abaddon was distracted with water in his eyes. I wanted to freeze time to get away from him faster until I realized that he took this ability from me. Uncle Carl's car also disappeared, so I'm guessing he drove away even though I froze most of the windows in his car. I ran for a while until I got near the house. Abaddon caught up to me and threw a dagger to stop me. It cut my cheek and stabbed into Uncle Carl's house. He put on gloves with the fine point around the knuckle area. I shot water and ice at him, but he blocked both. Abaddon punched me repeatedly, cutting me with his gloves in the process. I tried to block him but failed because he was too quick. I fell to the ground as I bled. I looked up at him. "You lied to me." I said coldly. "Yes, and you fell for it. Now you will die because of your own stupidity!" He said as he pulled the dagger out of the house. He began to thrash it at my chest, but I grabbed his arm before it could touch me. I concentrated and froze his body from head to toe. I moved out of the way and his frozen body fell but remained in one piece. Just then I heard footsteps from inside the house. The door opened and Crystal was behind the door. "What's all this noise?! Sara are you all, right?!" Crystal asked. She rushed over to me and held me as I continued to bleed out. "Sara I'm going to fix this." Crystal said, nearly in tears. "Crystal..." I said weakly. "Tell uncle Carl that... I'm sorry." I passed out in Crystal's arms. I woke up on uncle Carl's couch. I felt a necklace with green crystals around my neck. I also noticed that the bleeding had stopped, and my wounds closed. Crystal must have done this to keep me alive. Crystal came to the living room and saw me. "You're alright!" She said with a smile. Then I watched as her expression changed from happy to angry. "What were you thinking?! You could have died! Sasha had to melt ice off her dad's car, and I know you did it! Dad could have crashed his car all because you wanted to pick a fight with Abaddon!" After she said that all my emotions began to show. "I just found out that my parents died last night! BOTH! When a random man came up to me and told me that he could bring my parents back I just couldn't turn away! I felt like I had to get them back! It turned out to be a lie!" I shouted. "I lost my mom for the SAME THING, but you don't see me carrying on like this! We're both mutants what do you expect?! Things happen sometimes!" After she said this, I heard her sigh. "I'm always saving you and I'm sick of it." I felt annoyed with Crystal's words because she was clearly missing the point. She is only fifteen after all, and she barely left the house growing up. I got up without saying a word. I began to cry as I walked to my room. The hard truth is that my parents are gone, and there is nothing I can do about it.
