8. Pancakes

He rang the door bell and Endeavour opened the door. Before he could get a word in, I decided to try and charm him. "Good evening Endeavor!" I cheered with a big smile. "Good evening." He said, with a puzzled look on his face.

"Would you mind if I stay over at your house for a few hours? I wouldn't want to enter without your permission..." I asked softly with puppy eyes. He grumbled for a few seconds and opened the door.

Shoto looked at me with a shocked expression. "Thank you so much for inviting me into your home!" I exclaimed. "Hmph." He said.

Fuyumi looked at a confused Endeavor and them at me. "Shoto! Did you guys pass!?" She gushed.

"Y/N scored 2nd. I failed." Shoto whispered. "Oh, well congratulations Y/N! And Shoto...I'm sure you'll pass next time!" Fuyumi said trying to bring up the mood.

"SHOTOOOO!" Endeavor roared. "Uhm, I'm so sorry to interrupt Endeavor. I wouldn't want to overstep but I think that Shoto is under a lot of emotional distress right now and he needs some time to work through what just happened. I understand that you're upset and you have every right to be, but your words will be more impactful after Shoto has had time to calm down." You began.

ENDEAVOR POV:

I don't understand what Y/N is doing to me. I can't be mad at her no matter how hard I try. Is it really that bad if Shoto stays friends with her? She scores very well and seems to be a good influence on him. I'm confident that she's going to grow up to be just like her mother. Maybe I can use her to get through to Shoto. She's the reason he's using my fire...

"Alright. Go with Shoto." I allow.

SHOTO POV:

Did Y/N seriously get through to that bastard? Only she could do that. I pull her to my room and she shouts, "Thank you Endeavor!" from a distance. I don't like that she's acting so nice towards my father. I know it's only so that she can stay with me in the house but I don't like it one bit.

I sit her down on my bed and close the door. "You're seriously on his side?!" I shout.

"Sho! Listen to me!" She pleads as she gets up and grabs both my shoulders.

"I only behaved like that so I could enter your house without you getting hurt. I don't support Endeavor. Not even a little bit. I know what he's done to you and your family, I know! But I'd rather lie through my teeth then get you hurt..." She protested, resting her head on my neck after finishing.

"I don't like it. He doesn't deserve kindness. It pisses me off that you're treating him like he's the most important person in the world."

"Let it all out Sho."

"It's so unfair. No one deserves to go through all the pain he cause me and my family." I ranted.

"Of course not! No one does!" She agreed.

"Y/N...I'm tired... I don't want to keep fighting..."

"No one does... Everyone needs breaks and the fact that you failed the exam means that you're burnt out. You need rest Sho..."

"Can we nap together?" I mumbled. "Yes we can."

She sits down cross-legged on the bed with her back resting against the pillows and I lay down diagonally with my head on her lap. She starts playing with my hair and it helps me relax. After a while, my thoughts stop consuming me and I fall asleep.

I start to squirm as I wake up. When I open my eyes, I see Y/N on her phone smiling at something...was she awake the whole time? "Good morning!" She giggled. "Good morning." I mumbled.
