Ayaka Hana (reader) POV:

The words of Shinazugawa rang in my head, do I really love you.... Muichiro..?

"Ayaka, let's go on patrol together?"

"Hm? Sure!"

It wasn't unusual for Hashira to go on patrol together. We all had our specific areas assigned to each other, and we teamed up a lot. Though it is quite uncommon to see more than 2 hashira patrolling together. I've also teamed up with a few hashira in the past, Tomioka-san, Kanroji-san, Shinobu-san, and Kyojuro-san....

For our patrol area, we had 2 villages to explore, which were quite near the estates too, and so we started going towards the villages

I still can't forget the words of Shinazugawa... but I must clear my head as there's a chance I'll have to encounter some demons tonight

We both were patrolling together, walking, talking, but still aware of our surroundings. Hand in hand.

"It's peaceful, right? Wouldn't you agree, Muichiro?"

"Hm? Ah, sorry I didn't catch that."

"Even after you've gotten your memories back, you're still an airhead, eh? I said it's really peaceful like this."

"I'm an easily distracted person, though I'll try to make sure you have my full attention, though it is quite peaceful, I admit."

"It's more peaceful because you're here."

"You shouldn't say things like that...."
He turned his gaze towards the ground, and by his body posture and his tone, I could tell how sad he was.

"Eh? Why? Is something wrong?"

"Well..... just.. I was mean to you before, sometimes I feel like I don't deserve the nice things you say?.."

"Oh, Muichiro, don't worry about those. It's alright, all good now. You've become sweeter and better, so you've improved, right? And I know you didn't mean those things. There's not an ounce of mean in the boy I see in front of me."

He sweetly smiled at me and then hugged me from the side. Him regaining his memories gives an explanation to his sudden need of touch, of course I'm not complaining
