fifteen. i love you

The day after dinner with Sydney and Gibs, Chandler has the day off. Which is probably best because she wakes up not feeling the best, managing a small bowl of plain oatmeal and a glass of water before having to throw up. She's able to keep herself from throwing up again until closer to lunch time, which is when it starts hitting her much harder. While she's got her head stuck in the toilet, alternating between throwing up and dry heaving, she can hear her phone vibrating with missed messages from Trevor and Beau and the groupchat in general. She's doesn't care too much, much more preoccupied with all of the things going wrong, as well as Wren constantly checking on her and asking when she's going to get more food.

Trevor, on the other hand, is worried about her because he knows it's her day off and they were gonna see if Wren was feeling up to doing something with him, but he hasn't heard from her all morning. He doesn't think there's anything he did that could've hurt her or pushed her away, but he's not sure and that worries him a little too. Gibby tells him she was doing great the night before, she didn't seem to be upset with him or anything. In fact, she was gushing about him and telling them how excited she was to hopefully get to see him the next day. So after a handful of texts going unanswered, she finally answers and sparks more concern.

My Girl: no energy to type. talk later. okay?

The lack of capitals and full sentences has him scrunching up his eyebrows at the message, questioning it. He shows the text to Gibby, who also looks worried and confused, telling the younger boy to just call her. He nods, clicking on her contact info and calling her quickly. She answers after a few rings, her voice quiet and a little rougher than normal.

"This works, too," she mumbles, itching at a spot just above her lip and closing her eyes while laying on the bathroom floor. "Hi, Z."

"What's going on, babe?" he asks, running a hand through his hair as Gibby scrolls through his phone across from him, probably talking to Sydney.

"Can't stop puking," she admits, laying her warm sweaty hand on her forehead and wishing it was something cold but not having the energy to get up to find something. "I'm so tired of puking. I can't keep anything down."

"Are you okay?"

She sighs, "No. It was probably the stupid shrimp at Syd's. God, I'm so stupid."

"Can I do anything for you?"

"I don't think so," she says just as the bathroom opens and Wren walks in, standing in front of her mom and crossing her arms.

"I'm hungry," she says simply. "Lunch?"

She sighs, "Wren."

"I want food."

That's when the tears start, sobs taking over the woman's body as she lays on the bathroom floor and is wildly overwhelmed. Quickly, Wren abandons the bathroom because she doesn't want to see or hear her mom in tears. Trevor is struggling with what to do on the other side of the phone, his heart hurting for the girl on the other end. Eventually, the crying prompts her into her next round of throwing up. By the time that's done, he's already up and going to his room to pack an overnight bag. Gibby follows him, also mildly worried about the girl because he had heard the crying from the phone, his eyes wide as he watches Trevor. And once she's back to laying on the ground, she finally remembers that he's on the phone that she had left on the floor when she rushed to the toilet. Tears are still running down her face, but not nearly as hard as before.
