twenty-four. electric love
Somehow, hanging out with both Trevor and Beau turned into something incredibly easy for Chandler. She wasn't fully sure how it was going to work with their two personalities and how they both want to hog as much time as possible with her, but instead she almost felt like a third wheel on her date with Trevor turned group hang. As soon as they picked him up from his house, the car had been filled with chatter between the two boys, not giving her much of a chance to add in her two cents, but Trevor's hand didn't leave her thigh for the whole ride to the mini golf course. Their hands clasped together during the walk into the little building to pay for their excursion, but once they start playing, suddenly she felt left out. The guys start betting stuff at each hole, leaving her out of the conversation most of the time again. Thankfully, no one seems to recognize him, as no one approaches them and she doesn't notice anyone taking pictures of them while playing.
By the time they're in the last three holes, Trevor seems to have noticed that she's not having too much fun being left out, and he makes an effort to include her again. Beau fake gags when he watches his best friend get her butt smacked and a kiss pressed to her lips. She flips him off, hugging Trevor and squeezing him tightly. Then they ask her to add up their scores while they debate which of the Hughes brothers would die first in a zombie apocalypse. She laughs through the whole conversation, finding that Trevor had won and she had gotten second place somehow, Beau coming in last by a whole two strokes. He flips her off and picks her up, draping her over his shoulder before carrying her to the car. Even though he tries to put her in the backseat, she quickly throws herself into the front seat, going over the console and locking the door before he can even react. Trevor laughs at the two of them, sliding into the drivers seat while Beau sits in the back, pouting.
At the boba place, Beau ends up only paying for her drink while Trevor pays for both his and his own. The lady making the drinks seems confused by the dynamic, but doesn't ask questions while the trio wait for their drinks in two of the comfy chairs, Chandler perched on Trevor's lap while he talks to Beau about the upcoming playoff game that he plans on attending (and dragging Chandler, as well as Wren, along to). They both reluctantly put up with her taking pictures of each of their drinks in front of the neon sign before heading over to the the Chinese restaurant to pick up the to-go order Trevor had had her place for them on his phone. Once they have that, they head back to his car to eat their food in. Instead of climbing in front, though, Chandler climbs in back and lets the boys have the front of the car to themselves.
"What?" Trevor asks, glancing back at her in confusion.
"It's for the TikTok, I'll do it after we eat and this is easier than moving us all around once I'm ready."
"Whatever," Beau says with a shrug, digging into his food in the passenger seat.
"I kind of miss Wren," Trevor admits, taking a bite of his food. "It's weird not having her with us."
"It is, but it's nice to be someone other than just her mom sometimes."
"You're definitely more than just her mom, Cherry. Even if you are the best mom to her that she could ever ask for."
"A better mom would've had a dad for her."
"And yet you've given her an amazing life," Trevor tells her, reaching back to cup her head and make eye contact with her. "You are amazing, Chandler. Don't ever doubt that."
"I love you," Beau adds on, nodding to her. "You know I do, as well as my whole family. But our love could never compare to how much Wren loves you."
