Spencer doesn't want to be alone when he talks to his mom, but you're the only person he will allow to be with him. Rossi and Derek will talk to the neighbors, and you and Spencer head back to the home Diana is in. When she sees her son, she smiles lovingly at him and continues to play Scrabble by herself.

"Mom? Can I ask you some questions about Dad? I'm having trouble remembering."

"What do you want to know?" she asks without looking up.

"Did he like to be around children?"

You know this is very hard for Spencer to even think about, and you place your hand on his shoulder to let him know you're right here with him.

"Children? Well, yes. If it were up to him, you'd have a house full of brothers and sisters."

"So, you didn't want more children?"

"Why mess with perfection?" she winks at him, and Spencer blushes slightly.

"Um, what about other people's children? How was he around them?"

"He was good with kids, I guess. He coached your little league team. He was always trying to put you into normal activities. I tried to tell him you're not normal. You were exceptional."

"Let me ask you this, Mom. Did you ever get the feeling that on his part, the marriage was just for show?"

"These questions are very strange, Spencer. What is this about?" she asks.

"It's about Riley Jenkins."

"Riley Jenkins? I told you, he was someone you made up."

"No, he's not someone I made up. He was a real boy who lived in our neighborhood, and somebody killed him. I don't know, I think that Dad might have had something to do with it."

"He was real?" she whispers to herself.

"Yes, and he was on that little league team, too."

You and Spencer look at each other nervously. If his dad had something to do with it, then you can't jump to conclusions. He could have a very good reason for getting involved. If he's the unsub, then you're not sure Spencer can come back from knowing his father is a pedophile who murdered a child.

You know you won't be able to if it were your own father.

"We should talk to Riley's dad," you whisper to him.

Spencer knows he's not going to get more information out of his mother, so the next best thing is to talk to the family of Riley. Lou Jenkins works in town as a contractor, so it's not that hard to find him. Derek and Rossi were ready to go when you left Diana. Lou was shocked to see the FBI, and he was even more shocked to hear Spencer's theory about how his dad might have killed his son.

"You must be out of your damn minds," Lous scoffs.

"It's just a theory, Mr. Jenkins," Spencer says. "We're trying to get some new facts."

"Well, you're hell and gone from facts if you think Will Reid killed my son."

"Were you two friends?"

"Who the hell are you to come here and ask this?" he asks Spencer angrily.

"I'm his son."

"Spencer? You're a G-man? How about that?"

"Was Will around your house often?" you ask.

"He was over for the occasional barbecue."

"Was Riley around on these occasions?"
