Chapter 4💜

I woke up like usual, getting up and getting dressed, blah blah blah. I kept thinking about yesterday with the prowler and everything... I grabbed my schoolbag and left for the bus stop. Joslyn wasn't suspended anymore, woohoo! She ran up to me and shook me excitedly. "Y/NNNN OMG I MISSED YOU BOOKIE" She said a little too loud, the bully at the bus stop gave us some side glances but I ignored her. She genuinely wasn't worth my time.

"I missed you too!" I said and we did our signature handshake. I laughed and we talked for a while.

I expected today to be boring, but since I was hanging out with Joslyn some drama peaked up from hells crust.

Okay, remember how I said Joslyn was suspended for defending our other friend? Let's get more into that.

Basically, this bitch named Melissa was 'friends' with us—us as in me, Joslyn, and our other friends Claire and Des. But she pulled some bullshit on the field last week and randomly kicked Claire in the leg that she knew was injured. So, Joslyn beat the sense into her. I wasn't there when it happened, unfortunately, but if I was I would've totally helped Jos.

Long story short, Joslyn got suspended for a week and Melissa served no punishment because her parents were big donors to the school. So no, I'm not on good terms with Melissa, her friends or the school staff right now.

When me and Joslyn walked into the school with Claire and Des, everyone started whispering. I assumed about the fight. Joslyn won and fucked that bitch up though, so I wasn't concerned about reputation or anything.

Until all four of us got called into the dean's office. Once we arrived, the dean said that Melissa told her we were talking about the fight when we weren't. We tried defending ourselves but you know how adults are, defending the 'star student' no matter what. So we had lunch detention. How fucking fun.

We weren't even allowed to sit together, and we had assigned seats for some reason. I was sat by the quiet kid, who was apparently here for spray painting on the side of the school. I don't know what his name was, though—But I knew it started with an M and I think an i. Michael? Malachi? Something like that.

I was bored out of my mind and looked at him, observing him. He had braids and was actually pretty cute now that I see him up close, I wonder why he wasn't popular? Probably cause he's antisocial.

I laid back in my chair and took a deep breath, relaxing.

Soon enough, detention was over finally. And school ended soon after.

I decided to invite Claire, Des and Joslyn over. They knew I was spidergirl since I trusted them more than anyone ever. I even made them their own disguises so they could hang out with me without anybody getting suspicious. Nothing special, just balaclavas and jumpsuits that they customized themselves.

I jumped around with Des clinging onto my side, Joslyn on my other side and Claire on my back. I landed us on a building top and we hung out for a while on there, before my Spidey sensed freaked the fuck out.

I looked around and I saw the prowler. Ookay, so it was either his mission or an incident like yesterday. He hopped up onto the building top in front of us and I stared at him, waiting for him to speak.

"Can I hang with you again?"

Good. I didn't want my friends in any danger.

"Sure," I replied blankly. He sat next to me. I introduced him to my 'spiderlings' and them to him. They couldn't think of individual names so they just go by J, C and D.

We hung out for a while before I took the three of them home and hopped back on the building where we were hanging out, seeing the Prowler still waiting for me.

"Just so you know, Kingpin gave up sending us on missions to catch you." He said. I tilted my head in response, amused. "He finally got tired, huh? That's hilarious." I giggled. He looked down before back at me. "Well, can I see you tomorrow?" He asked. I shrugged before speaking. "Sure, I don't have plans." We set up a place and time, and we both went our separate ways.

I arrived home and took off my stuff before changing into my PJs. I put my headphones on and turned on music, relaxing until I fell asleep.

When I woke up I got ready like usual, taking a shower and getting dressed, doing my skincare etcetera. I went to the bus stop, hung out with Joslyn, talked with the kids and got on the bus to go to school. But oh my God. We had assigned seats now.

Apparently one too many fights on the bus happened, 'too much cursing' and apparently Ms. Ollie is allergic to joy magic and fun.

I get why her husband left her.

I found my name tag and sat down, I was sat next to the quiet guy from detention. I wanted to make the most of it and ask his name, but it would be awkward considering I think he told me his name before.

"Heyy, what's up?" I asked, trying to make small talk to make this bus trip less painful. "Hi." He said blankly. He seemed tired, so I gave him a soft smile before leaving him alone. I leaned my head on the window and fell asleep.

He nudged me awake when the bus arrived at the school, and the day went as normal.

Once I got home I quickly threw on my spidersuit. I was so excited, I forgot my jacket. Had I not learned my lesson from the other day?

(Chap.1 reference)

Whatever.

I got to the rooftop and waited, shivering. Once he got there, he took one look at me and took his jacket off and threw it over my shoulders.

"What happened to hi?" I asked, teasing softly.

"I don't want you freezing to death. Your health comes before conversation." God, his voice—despite being distorted—was hot. We talked about several things—mostly music or art, and we had quite a bit in common.

When I got home I couldn't stop thinking about him.

C'mon, Y/N, I barely know him. I can't just  fall in love with him. I don't even know what his face looks like!
