(S2Ep5)
Several miles behind a group of people that had managed to escape the city before Atlanta fell were holing up on a vast property owned by a righteous, god-driven family.
The Greenes. Good people. Humble and raised to be good Christians, but they were only human, and like every human, they made their mistakes. Their mistake was having hope, hope that their loved ones could be helped, that there would be a cure... That they were still there, somewhere.
The group of survivors was getting ready for the day, to go look for one of its youngest members who had gotten lost in the woods. They were designating areas and groups, job divisions.
"Imma borrow a horse, head to this ridge out here. With a bird's eye of the whole grid. If she's up there, I'll spot her."
Not long after Daryl parted ways and went looking for the missing girl.

Some might call it destiny or God's mysterious ways, for others it's just the Universe doing its thing...However you wanna call it, it was about to give Daryl a hell of a ride.
A snake scared the horse Daryl was riding making Daryl fall off and onto a creek below. His head was pounding and his side hurt like a bitch, seems to be one of his bolts had stabbed him on the side on the way down.
He dragged himself best he could to the shore and cut off the sleeves of his shirt and tied them up around his torso, near the wound. Hopefully, it would help him not die from blood loss. With a stick in hand to use as a cane, he made his way to the edge of the hill.
The sound of branches moving stopped him from climbing back up the hill he had fallen from. He was ready to position himself to shoot at whatever threat came to view when he realized his bow was missing. He got back in the water, splashing like crazy, looking for the damn thing with a big stick he found. The relief he felt when he found it!
After getting his bow he wrapped the strap around his forearm, put Sophia's doll in between his cargo pants and his belt, and gripped the big-ass stick in his hand for dear life as he began climbing the hill again. Although the stick gave him the support he was lacking because of his wound, it didn't help when the ground he was stepping on gave away, making him fall once again into the creek. Once more he hit his head.
Daryl's eyes opened only to see a familiar pair of pale-blue eyes staring back at him.
''Why don't ye pull that arrow out, dummy? Ye can bound yer wound better''
Daryl grinned to himself. ''Merle'', he said softly.
Merle grinned and chuckled. ''What's goin' on? Ye takin' a siesta or somethin'? ''
''Shitty day, bro''
Merle laughed at that, ''Mind if I fluff ye a pillow? Maybe rub yer feet?''
''Screw you''
''Ye're the one screwed from the looks of it. All 'em years I spent tryin' to make a man of ye and here's what I get? Look at ye, layin' in the dirt like a used rubber. Ye're gonna die out 'ere lil brother. And for what?''
''Girl... They-they lost a little girl'' Daryl's voice came hoarsely.
''So ye got a thang for little girls now?''
''Shut up'' Daryl grumbled annoyed at his asshole of a brother.
''Cause I noticed ye ain't lookin' for ol' Merle no more''
''Try like hell to find ye, bro''
''Like hell, ye do. Ye split, man. Went out first chance you got''
''Ye get out first. All ye had to do was wait, we went back for ye. Rick and I, we did righ' by ye''
