"So I'm thinking we switch Rachel and Matthew." Mitch says, laying on Tim.
"But linebacker is all Rachel knows."
"Yes but have you seen her kick?"
"True."
"It rivals Noah." Mitch says.
"Which we need."
"Which we need."
"Okay. We can switch them. Though it was always your decision as captain."
"But I'd like your input. You know the sport as well as I do."
"True."
Mitch looks around and takes Tim's hand.
"We're in public." Tim says, confused but playing with Mitch's fingers anyway.
"I need to talk to you about something."
Tim's hand stops.
"Is this when you end it?"
"End what?"
"Us?" Tim asks sad.
"No. No. We're fun."
"Yes, we are."
"And I would only end it during the school year and then I wouldn't come back to camp."
"Moving on. What were you going to say?"
"I think we should tell the camp about us."
"You want to come out as?"
"Gay?" Mitch asks.
"I'm not."
"Oh." Mitch takes his hand back.
"Hi, guys." Rachel says, sitting right next to Tim. "How are you?"
"We're good, just working on the roster." Mitch says.
Tim wonders why he seems off.
"Am I starting with you, Tim?" She says, leaning in.
"You've been first string."
"But we're moving you to kicker." Mitch says.
"Good, I'll be able to watch you all more."
Tim looks her in the eye and she grins.
"Well, I'm off. Bye."
"Bye." Tim calls.
They sit in silence for a few minutes.
"So you want to come out?"
"But you're not gay."
"No. But I'm something since I'm with you."
"So you'll do it?"
"Of course."
"Now to plan it."

Rachel talks to Tim every chance she gets. Especially when Mitch is around. She knows she's getting on Mitch's nerves and it delights her.

"Babe?" John asks.
"Hand holding." Jordan says.
"Y'all together?" Trevor asks.
"Yes." Mitch says grinning.
"How long?" Bethany asks.
"Two years." Tim says.
