After the auditions, Toby and Jim began heading home and were riding through town on their bikes.

"Dude, that was amazing! You were amazing!" Toby gushed as they waited for the street to be cleared so they could ride down the road.

"I'm amazed at how amazing you were!" The rounded boy went on as the path cleared, where they started pedaling straight ahead.

"I can't believe that that just happened," Jim sighed in accomplishment as he and Toby slowly pedaled past some construction work on a shop front.

"And did you see how the 'chiquita' was looking at you? Your armor totally did you a favor!" Toby pointed out as he cockily pedaled without his hands on the handle bar.

'Jim's made more progress with Claire this afternoon than he had in the past few years. I'm proud of him,' the rounded boy thought to himself with a smirk.

"Uh, I'm still getting the hang of it," Jim admitted as they continued going past the construction.

"The multi-eyed guy said it reacts to your emotional state," Toby recalled before he lost his balance on the bike while riding over a wood plank. Jim fondly rolled his eyes at his best friend's folly as Toby swerved to the left.

"The armor turns on when you're in distress!" The rounded boy continued while he got his balance back. Deciding to not be cocky again, he put his hands back on the handle bars, and steered himself so he was riding next to Jim again.

"But I wasn't in distress back at school," Jim pointed out as they turned the corner. Only for them to be surprised to see a large dark troll roaring at them at the end of the street, causing them to stop in their tracks.

"But I am now!" Jim exclaimed as he and Toby stared at the troll in shock.

"Trollhunter! Merlin's creation! Gunmars bane!" Bular proclaimed as he started to support his weight on his fists, pawing at the asphalt as he prepared to attack them.

"I think he's talking to you..." Toby worriedly remarked as they looked at the troll in fear.

"That must be Bular," Jim said to Toby, just before Bular roared again and paced the area of shadow he was occupying. But when he tried to leave the shadows, his hand got burned by the fading sunlight.

"Look! Marinette was right. He's afraid of the sun!" The boy in blue exclaimed when he noticed Bular's hand burning. Unfortunately for them, when Jim turned left he noticed the ongoing sunset.

"Not for long!" Toby shouted in fear as they saw their window of safety rapidly closing.

"The amulet! Surrender it, and I will give you a speedy death!" Bular demanded from the growing shadows, worrying the two boys even more.

"Doesn't know how to negotiate, this guy!" Toby remarked before he and Jim sped away from Bular on their bikes as he lunged at them, following behind as they fled. They kept retreating until they turned a corner and managed to hide from Bular behind a parked truck before he began searching for them.

"Armor up, armor up. Armour up! Please! Now! FASTER!" Toby rapidly exclaimed as he panickingly encouraged Jim to speed up. He then glanced behind them, and saw Bular had just punched away a truck parked a distance away from the one they were behind after seeing they were not hiding behind it.

"Okay. 'For the glory of Merlin, daylight is mine to command!'" Jim quickly incanted. The amulet glowed in response, but nothing happened save for the glow fading away, much to the boy's panic.

"It's not working!" The boy in blue panicked. But their worrying was interrupted when they heard Bular getting closer to their hiding spot.

They quickly change spots from behind the truck and hide on the side of the truck facing the sidewalk. They just made the swap before Bular got to the truck and looked where they were previously hidden.
