Ever since the start of the Tree Wars, the continent of Pantala has been unevenly divided. The neutral DartWings, uninvolved in the conflict, kept to their ancestral territory of the Spires while the seceded HiveWings sought new land on the Beetle Lake peninsula. The AntWings and FlashWings disappeared underground while the LeafWings, after a vicious attack on their original territory, likewise sought the Poison Jungle's protection. The SilkWings remained in their Baobab Grove, guarded by an impenetrable defense of AntWing Supermajors. In the last fifty years, firm borders have been established - with AntWings holding the monopoly over all.

In the year 5,012 A.S., the Northern Alliance land a blow no dragon ever thought could land: they infiltrate the Fortress. During the chaos, a young AntWing Worker designated Q-984 ("Eight") escaped. She meets an Alate and her FlashWing Light on the way who happen to be the key to ending the war. Since that night, they have been doing everything in their power to regain control of the AntWing tribe (who seems to be led by one (or more??) corrupt dragons) including travelling across the continent to the Poison Jungle. On the morning of the fifth day of their journey, Eight is captured by a HiveWing patrol.

But almost as soon as Eight is lost, a dragon who can find her reveals himself to the Alate. The DartWing Hawker comes bearing news of change: change in himself, having realized the error of his ways, and change in the AntWing army, who have started mutilating their own soldiers to null the effects of HiveWing attacks. The Alate puts her trust in Hawker for he is their best chance at returning Eight to them. He follows her to the auction, and after a harrowing escape both turn their sights on the Poison Jungle and the Alate waiting for them.

The original versions of the HiveWings, SilkWings, and LeafWings were made by Joy Ang and Tui T. Sutherland. I have merely drawn new references for each tribe (and altered the LeafWings slightly). The descriptions for the canon Pantala tribes are quoted from The Lost Continent, with minor adjustments to territory and alliances, as well as the description and abilities of the LeafWings. Once again the credit goes to the amazing Tui T. Sutherland.
