We waited for Matt. It was about, ten minutes ago when he went to go get the man. Nalani was tired of sitting around without something in her belly and went into the kitchen to go through their food.

Me on the other hand I sat by the hearth that I hadn't noticed when I first came. I closed my eyes trying to picture the night again. I have really good photo memory. After thinking about it, it was hidden behind the table.

Fire places always amazed me as a kid. We had one back at my old house in Maryland. We had a huge one, where I could walk in. If I had friends over, we would play hide and seek and I'd always hide inside behind the wood. That house was the place where all the good things happened and I was oblivion to everything.
When we moved here in Caribou, and we got a smaller one, that looked close to this one.

A few more minutes went by, and there was yelling in the kitchen. I got up to make sure Nalani didn't do anything, but sure enough it was her and Iris going back and forth.

"I don't care what you thought. That is mine! Who even said you could even be here," Iris yelled at her snatching a tube of yogurt from her.

"Like I said, I didn't know. It's not like I woke thinking, 'hey I'm going to sneak in your house and eat all your food'," Nalani shot back at her.

Iris, stormed away, purposely running into my shoulder on her way out of the door. Nalani was about to say something, but I told her to leave it. If the girl wanted to be pissed about her Danimals, let her.

A few seconds later, the man from the night before came into the kitchen with an all black suit on. He gestured us to follow him. We were on his heels, when he led us out to the deck.It was all white with black furniture and a red table in the middle.

He took a seat in the chair closer to the door, we sat on the couch directly in front of him on the other side of the table.

"What may I help you with today," he asked, folding his hands.

I cleared my throat, forgetting why I came here again. For some reason, random flashbacks were coming to me, giving me a splitting headache. I put my hand on my eyes, but I couldn't stop it.

The flashes, just kept going. It was of the night I ran away with Nalani. We had ran all the way to my Manni's house. She called the police, concerned for us, wondering why I ran away. The next morning a man came to the door explaining what I couldn't to anyone.

He told Nalani her mom had passed away in a fire. Eventually she found out the truth, but she didn't hold that against me. They had arrested my parents that night and sent them away to prison.

I don't know why I was thinking of this now, but it was starting to kill me. Nalani touched my shoulder, I jerked away from her. She had never really seen or noticed me have a flashbacks before. After a few seconds they stopped.

I looked at the man, studying him. Now I knew why man brain decided to go crazy. He was the man that I saw that morning.

"I know you, don't I," I asked him.

He nodded, pulling out something from his pocket. He sat it on the table and I picked it up.

Agent Mark Sanders

Federal Bureau of Investigation

Nalani picked it up, covering her mouth. She looked at me, looking surprised. I'm guessing she just realized who he was too.

"It's been a while, since we were face to face. But I remember you as well Ms. Shades and Ms. Trask. I'm sorry for the mix up last night. I'm sure you have plenty of questions."
