It was finally Saturday. No school to stress over. Just me, myself and I. Maybe Lani, if she wasn't hungover today. What was it she slipped into my pocket anyway?

I slowly crawled out of bed reaching into my sweats to find it. I pulled it out and almost shrieked.

I didn't try thinking of what she handed me and knowing her it was usually drugs. But this, this was different.

Inside was a tiny bottle filled with little notes. I didn't know where she found it, but it made me happy to have it.

The little notes where a game I used to play with myself. Id write notes to myself about a specific place. There were coordinates and a small compass inside.

I never knew where I thought I end up landing, but it was always someplace cool to me. The thing was how did she find it? They were always buried in the ground in random spots.

"Aeron," Liv said knocking on the door. I went over to open it, only sticking my head out. "Hey, I thought I heard you get up. Could you run to the store and pick up some milk, eggs and flour, please." I nodded to her, but she still didn't leave. "Take, Lani, with you. We don't need here sleeping away again."

I nodded again and she walked away. As soon as she was gone I closed the door, sliding down it. Nalani was still asleep and it was almost eleven.

I put my clothes on first before I woke her. A baggy shirt and boyfriend jeans, it's not like I'd see someone anyway. Why would I? I have no friends.

I went over to the mirror to brush my pale white hair into a ponytail and up into my baseball cap. I wanted no trace of my parents to show in me. My creamy honey skin was the closest I wanted it to get there. I put in dark brown contacts to hide my blue-brown eyes.

The white hair was Nalani idea. It was originally dark brown, then we changed it to black, then blonde, to now this. Give it a month or two and it might be some other color. But whatever, as long as it gives her something to do, I'm all for it.

When I finished I threw my small pillow at her. She was a heavy sleeper a simple shake or yell wouldn't wake her. I doubt that, that woke her. She mumbled something into her pillow then glared at me.

"I told you beauty is suppose to have twelve hours of sleep," she said pulling the covers over her head.

"That was more than twelve hours. Now get up we gotta go to the store. It'll only be like fifteen minutes and we'll be back. I promise," I said crossing my heart.

Lani crawled out of bed, literally and left to go to her room to get dressed. I went outside to wait for her on the porch, until I knew she was almost done. It always took her at least twenty minutes to get dressed.

If I walked down the block to get my car that'll be five minutes gone and it'll give me something to do.

Walking down the street was always the highlight of my day. No one ever bothered me. They saw as an average person. It was until they actually saw me that they would cringe.

Everyone in this town was like that. It made me wonder why we never moved out, but this is where Liv lives and works, there was no way out.

I never knew exactly what she did. Every time I asked she'll tell me a different occupation. Maybe she wasn't good with lies or she wanted me to keep guessing. One thing for sure I knew she worked for the Army, but is retired from that now. Maybe she was still tied to them, maybe not, who knows.

I reached my car and saw the boy from the other day, jogging down the sidewalk. I dipped my head low, hoping he wouldn't see me, but he slowed down.
