The hairs on the spider queen's back poked and prodded uncomfortably at Shaggy and Ron as they sat together. While Ron was eased because of Shaggy's presence, he was not cozy nor snug as a bUg. Instead, he shivered with fright that the night that was approaching. The forest would be shrouded in dark with the only light coming from the spark of the spiders' eyes. Ron heard the thumping of fear and pressure in his head, but he looked at Shaggy and watched the moment when Shaggy put his hand perpendicular to his forehead and looked every which way. He looked up and down and left and right to try to spot the source.
Bloody 'ell , can Shaggy hear this sound too?!
Queen Theraphosidae skidded to a halt as the pebbles on the forest ground started to bounce up and down with the shaking of the Earth.
Bloody 'ell, is this an echo of Shaggy's burp?
The path dug into the forest floor was split at a crossroads. The trees were thick in the direction of the massive wave of something coming closer and closer until it was about to confront Queen Theraphosidae, Shaggy, and poor, poor Ron. But then a high-pitched shriek of a battle rang through the trees, rustling and blowing the leaves. In front of them, a Great Centaur bursted through the bushes and atop its back sat Velma with a longsword in her right hand and a shield in her left.
"SHAGGY I'VE COME FOR YOU," VELMA SCREAMED, "HOP ABOARD THE BACK OF THE CENTAUR TO YOUR LEFT. WE WILL GET YOU OUT OF HERE."
Without further instruction, Shaggy and Ron leapt to their left on cue and onto a centaur who said, "Hi my name's Gary," and sped off behind Velma. The vastness of the centaurs was finally seen in full as a 500 were armed with shields and swords, all yelling cries of battles and smacking their shields.
A pang of hurt was struck into the spider queen's heart: emotional hurt. Her love was gone from her, and she hissed into the air, and Ron assumed this was in her spider language as spiders both smaller and bigger than her swarmed behind her. He understood that these were her citizens.
"CHARRGE!" Velma shouted and the centaurs moved as a herd toward the spiders. Ron was picked up by a different centaur and both he and Shaggy were given a sword, expected to fight. Despite his fear, Ron felt motivated at the thought of killing spiders, especially after how the queen treated Shaggy like a tasty meal. He and the centaur called Steve rushed toward the front of the battleline. But neither motivation nor a sharp sword were enough to give Ron skills because he immediately dropped his sword when it hit a spider and fell off of Steve. As he was about to be struck by that spider's teeth, something pulled him away and saved his life.
It was Queen Theraphosidae.
Staring into her many eyes, Shaggy screamed very loudly and caught the attention of Shaggy and Gary. Without another thought, Shaggy steered Gary toward Ron who was trapped on Queen Theraphosidae's back and surrounded by a circle to keep her and Ron safe. With no way through the circle, Shaggy jumped from Gary's back and flew through the air with his sword pointed right at the spider queen's head. She did not see Shaggy coming, but a guard in her circle watched the jump and was quick to use a spider leg to stop the trajectory of Shaggy, sending him off into the painful dirt.
Across the battlefield, Velma, in her Roman helmet topped with a canary red mohawk, slashed and poked at the enemy spiders. Her eyes were red. Actually red. Glowing. If it weren't for her Roman helmet, all attention would have been on the light illuminating from her eye sockets. And from her gullet came a scream more blood-curdling than all prior. She must have seen Shaggy laying on the ground with no allies around him, a swarm of spiders skittering near. Defenseless, Shaggy shouted at Velma and the other centaurs, "Save ron not me!!!!!!!!!!! The spider queen wants to kidnap him!!!!!!!!!" Velma looked at Shaggy and then to Ron, to and fro and to and fro, her mohawk fluttering in the wind. A spider lunged at her from the back where she wasn't able to see, coming from the trees further and further until it was about to bite her when an arrow struck it between its many eyes.
