camille pulls into the triplets' driveway while niola is nervously sitting in the passenger's seat. camille casually parks her car in her designated spot before noticing niola's nerves.
"hey," camille says comfortingly, "everything will be fine. i promise."
for the entire car ride, niola had been overthinking every little detail of what could possibly go wrong. the thing is, she feels a little excited to see matt despite how anxious she is. it's weird to think about how drastically their relationship took a turn. he went from being the only person she could confide in, to being the person she dreads seeing the most.
and what makes everything even worse is that niola knows it's her own fault. if she didn't stress out over everything, matt wouldn't have to deal with her strange behavior.
sometimes, niola wishes matt wasn't such a good person. then she wouldn't feel so guilty about avoiding him. but he's the kindest person she'd ever met.
"yeah," niola replies, opening the car door and stepping out. "you're right, i know it'll be fine."
"are you sure? you looked like you were a bit freaked out." camille points out.
"what? no, i was just looking at all of the grey clouds." niola says, quickly trying to hide the fact that she's lying through her teeth. "it looks like there's going to be storm soon, and i didn't bring a jacket."
"oh," camille says, remembering her plan to leave niola and matt out in the rain. "what a shame."
