June eleventh, Monday schedule

08:00 - 09:00 Breakfast and cabin inspections

Like every other Monday in my life, I didn't expect to like this. My breakfast was good. Blue orange juice, yogurt mixed with strawberries, blueberries and granola. It was quite tasty. So at least I had that going for me.

09:00 - 10:30 Ancient Greek

Scrubbing the dishes and scrubbing the pavilion, I wondered if the bottle made it to Percy, or if he wrote something back. Since the paper was small, I don't expect him to write in vivid detail about how the quest was coming along. Maybe they have the fleece already. Maybe they ran into Clarisse. I wonder what kind of monsters they've encountered or just generally, any new information.

10:30 - 11:00 Lunch preparation

Connor, Evelyn and I had a conversation about siblings.

"What's something only child people will never understand?"

I looked over at Connor. "I don't like you, but I love you."

"What?" Evelyn said.

"It's either one or the other." Connor explained. "You can't have both and if you do have both, then that's a secret you take to the grave."

Except I have a secret, I like and love my brother, but I would never admit it out loud. So I'm trusting you not to tell anyone.

11:00 - 12:00 Archery

Connor decided to keep me company during this hour. He was talking about his latest pranks and everyone's reactions. They tended not to be good reactions, usually anger and threats. There was something I've been meaning to ask him for a while, but I might as well ask him since he's here now.

"Um hey Connor."

"Yeah, Molls?"

"I was just wondering if you could do me a... nevermind, it's stupid."

"Tell me and then I'll decide if it's stupid or not."

"I already ask too much from you. I can't ask anymore."

"And you're one of the only few people who actually laughs at my pranks instead of resorting to violence. At least not immediately."

I shifted my weight. "Well, I just wanted to ask... I wanted to ask if you could teach me how to pick locks."

He raised a brow. "You want to learn how to pick locks?"

"See, it was stupid."

"No, no, no. I'll teach you if you want. Just tell me when and where and I'll teach you." He put his hand to his chest. "You can call me Professor Stoll!"

"Professor Idiot? Okay, if that's what you want to be called, fine."

"So when?"

"During my free time, but not today."

12:00 - 12:30 Greek Mythology

Another thing I remember from my trip to the zoo, aside from seeing a blooming rooster for the first time, I was excited to see all the animals in real life that I saw pictures of, or on TV. I mostly knew all their names and I wasn't shy demonstrating my knowledge. When we got to the elephants, I caused a big stir. I noticed something odd and yelled out, "Mama! Mama! Look! Look! That elephant has FIVE legs! 1 2 3 4 5!"
