"Must you go?" Doriph's wife pleaded, "You did your bit; our boys are back home safe."
"Dunkirk is a successful failure, but a failure nonetheless."
His wife grabbed hold of him, preventing him from packing his bags. She asked for one more day. Doriph wanted to but knew he couldn't. He reminded, "The Battle of France is over; we lost. The Battle of Britain is about to begin, and I don't want to lose again."
"It hasn't started yet," She smiled, "Just another day."
"I've joined up with some others; I can't tell much," He lowered his already soothing voice, "But it requires me to leave, but I won't fly a plane just yet and I'll be back as soon as its over."
As she leaned into a hug, she questioned him why he would join such a thing, to put his life at further risk, seeing through his choice of words.
"Poland lasted 35 days-"
"But-"
"Belgium 18 days, the Netherlands... 5 days. Luxembourg, just about 1 day. Denmark, 6 hours. The empire of France, I wouldn't put past them 40 or so days... same with Norway. Less we surrender; Britain is next on the chopping board."
He gently wiped a tear off his wife's cheek, "That's why I am going..." He smiled, "In 9 hours."
His wife laughed and hugged him again, "9 hours, nothing less."

John walked down the hallway, when he overheard a conversation behind closed doors. He knows he shouldn't, but he listened in. Luca, Juels and The Man were talking.
"...sounded like he is a weak link. A liability." The Man said.
"Yes, the only thing he could brought was firepower, it is partly why I brought him along. But it turns out, he is just a child. He cannot in this war," Juels continued, "Luca is good, but I need more men."
"I could transfer a couple of SOEs."
"Nee, I want Him."
Luca looked confused, he clarified, "By Him, you mean-"
"Anker yes."
The Man sighed, "I already told you, it is just not possible. I understand he's your friend, a skilled solider-"
Juels laughed, "Calling him skilled is an insult. Louis called him the supernatural killer."
Luca added, "He once hit his target in the head fro-"
"From 4 kilometres away I know."
"The maximum effective range is 900 metres."
Juels added, "He was able to modify a bullet for that kind of job."
The Man began to get irritated, he was weighing the reward and the risk of a potential mission, John listened closely, careful not to make a noise.
"I'm sorry," The Man said, "I cannot risk loosing 2 excellent men for the life of another."
Luca argued back, "No your-"
"Don't speak to me like that soldier! The both of you are dismissed."
Luca and Juels began to exit the building, John backed away but soon realised that no one exited the room. He placed his ear to the door once again.
Juels mentioned, "You know he decapitated a man with his bear hands."
"In two punches," Luca added on.
"Yes I've he-"
"With his fucking hands!"
The Man thought for a bit, then he came to a conclusion. "A plan will be drafted up."
John rushed out of the hallway and to Oliver and Ruth. They were talking to another man, a close friend and fellow pilot of Ruth. At first they looked confused at his behaviour, but then he said as he closed the door, "I know what we are doing next."
The men exchanged looks, then they looked back at John. Ruth asked what he was talking about.
"A prison break, deep inside Nazi territory!" He excitedly exclaimed, "I always wanted to conduct a prison break."
The third man, unknown to all but Ruth at that moment, asked, "Who are we risking so much for?"
"There is this man yeah, he is the Devil from the sounds of it. Could win us any battle."
At that moment the door opened, Juels stepped inside, "He is not the Devil, he is the one you call to kill the Devil."
The men stared at Juels as he grinned. He knew the question floating around the room; so he answered, "Anker"
