An overcast covered the lands of Gibraltar. Warm air streamlined between the roads and the buildings to even the most isolated regions of the colony, to a small semi-rundown building. In this building, amongst the fear of Axis invasion, was the 4 man squad lounging on the sofas, pleased with the outcome of the previous mission.
The Man spoke to them all, "Good work with your mission. It turns out the Germans are only mildly interested in that port. Hopefully, with luck, it can join the British ranks after negotiations."
The men raised their beer glasses in a small cheer before The Man spoke again, in a softer, more sorrowful voice, "This little thing of ours will not be cancelled, thanks to you. No matter the outcome of those ships, I want you to remember that."
"What's next?" Asked John
"Bad news I'm afraid. France is most certainly lost," He directed them to a small map of France, "My intelligence predicts that the German 1st Cavalry and the 7th Panzer division will advance to Saumur around the 18th. Across the river is the French 3rd Armoured division."
"The 18th?" Jules leaned forward, "That is a couple days."
John muttered, "Away."
Oliver questioned, "What are we doing here then?"
The Man calmly replied, "Arrangements had to be made, intelligence had to be gathered. Your plane leaves in about an hour, when you arrive, a truck will escort you to Saumur."
"What's the mission?"
"There is POI there. He is refusing to leave, doesn't want to give France without a fight. Your mission is to bring him back, drag him if you have to."
The Man gave a folder to Juels who opened it, "His name is Luca Randev, he is one of 2,500 men there."
Juels turned a page over to the specifications of the mission, "I do not know how to use the Lee Enfield. I am sticking with my gun."
John and Oliver leaned over his shoulder to read and were disappointed to see that it was in Dutch. Juels looked at Ruth, "Are you a good shot?"
"No, I am an excellent shot. Perfect even."
"You will be giving close air support, in German dominated airspace."
He smiled as he chugged down his beer, "Not a problem."
Juels made one more request, "Anti-tank equipment?"
The Man responded, "Your not there to stop the German bulldozer. It's and in and out mission."
The men quickly gathered their things before heading off, Juels was held back. The two looked at each other and despite being so close to his face, Juels couldn't make out any features.
In Dutch
"I have considered a rescue operation for Him. And I am sorry, it just is not possible, He is deep in enemy territory and his location is still a guess."
"An educated guess. Listen, you and I both know it isn't a matter of if we need Him, "The door opened as John quickly walked inside to grab something, "It is a matter of when."
In English
"Who's this 'Him'?"
Juels looked at John,
"Anker"
