Book 2 • The Usurper from the Wilds

~ Third person pov ~

After the events of Heartslabyul Evie was exhausted.  As she returned from her now daily visit to the restricted area of the library, she still had that sense of being watched.  She knew she wouldn't find anything more about her mother, so she just went and studied various spells or anything else she found interesting.  And every time she had the feeling that she was being watched.

Really this was getting weird.  Every time, at the same time, just before dawn, when he left the library.  And always, that feeling stopped when she entered her dorm.

She had so much on her mind now. Who was watching her and why.  What happened to her mother, why was she excommunicated and is she still alive?  That her hanging out with the Heartslabyul boys and Yuu was a big distraction and she needed to get away from them.

Grim:  "Ugh. Professor Trein must have cast a sleepin' spell on me.
I fought to stay awake, but he was sooo boring!"

Deuce: " Yeah, "fought," sure. I heard you snoring five minutes in."

Ace: " Grub time! What's it gonna be today?
Huh, wait? What's going on? Why's it so crowded in here?"

Ghost:"  That famous bakery from out of town is serving up their goods. It only happens once a month!
Their stock sells out fast, so you'd better hurry!"

Heartslabyul boy: " Gimme three of those chocolate croissants!"

Heartslabyul Student girl:"  Woo-hoo, I actually snagged an egg sandwich this month! These things are AMAZING!"

Ghost: " Egg sandwiches are now sold out! Only one deluxe ham and cheese left!"

Ace:  "Oh, man, everything looks amazing. I'm gonna see if I can grab somethin'."

Deuce: " Hey, Evie, let's tell her to sit with us"

Evie was walking away from the crowd had picked up a plate of some Dangos and had one in her mouth.  She heard Deuce call her.  Disappointed, she turned to their side and went to their table.

Ace : " wow, that's a lot of Dango"

Evie : " do you want some?"

Yuu : "we haven't seen each other since yesterday, where have you been all day?"

Evie : " get some Dangos!"

Evie : " Anyway I have to go, I have a lot to do today you know reading, classes, Housewarden work and such, see you!"

Deuce: " Evie seems a bit strange to you today?"

Ace : " Yeappppp"

Yuu : " I think she is avoiding us"

Yuu : " The ravenous beast has gotten loose..."

Grim:  "Hey! Outta my way, losers! That grilled cheese is mine!"

Heartslabyul boy 1:  "Hey, no cutting!"

Heartslabyul boy 2:  "A freshman, cutting in front of an upperclassman?! Time to learn you some manners."

Deuce:  "He's got such a one-track mind when it comes to food!"

Ace: 
Sigh*

Yuu: "Let's go stop him!"

Grim:  "Ha! Guess who scored the last deluxe grilled cheese sandwich? This guy. That's why they call me Grim the Great!
Myahahaha! I also snagged a bear claw AND a cronut!"

Deuce:  "Grim, you need to learn some restraint! I'm really sorry, guys."

Ace:  "Yo, Pops, gimme one of those roast beef sandwiches."
