Leif's POV

When we enter the house, Haven quickly leads us toward the bathroom, where his mate is locked.

He gives Quinton a key, so he opens the door, and he tries to step inside, but Carter stops him, and he goes there first, then we follow him.

Haven's mate is still laying on the floor, so Carter checks if he's alive, and he sighs in relieve when he sees that the wolf is breathing.

The Doctor pushes past us to see the wolf, and he spends a few minutes examining him.

"He will be fine, but he might stay unconscious for a while." He tells us, so Carter nods.

Quinton had explained to me that the werewolves can't use the supernatural healing when they're asleep of unconscious, so if Haven's mate had any injury, then it would have to be treated as a human wound, and that's why we took the Doctor with us.

"By the way. What are you doing here?" Haven asks me.

"I will tell you later." I tell him, because I'm sure that they will take him back to the pack with us, to make sure that he won't tell anyone about it.

He nods, letting it go for now, so we look at his mate again.

"What's his name?" I ask Haven.

"Jake." He responds, so I nod.

"Don't you know him?" I ask Quinton, and he nods.

"Yeah, he's a bit older than me, but he used to be friends with one of my brothers, so I got to see him sometimes." He explains.

"Wait." Haven says with wide eyes.

"You're a werewolf too?" He asks Quinton.

"Yeah." He responds, while he helps Carter lift the wolf.

"I can't believe that I slept with a werewolf, and I don't even know about it." Haven says, and he grips his hair tightly.

"You slept with him?" Carter asks Quinton, and my mate just chuckles, but I know that he's uncomfortable.

"Yeah, a lot of times actually." Quinton says, and Carter gives him a disapproving look, while they go toward Haven's living room.

"What?" Quinton asks. "It took me a long time to find my mate." He defends himself.

"It took me longer, and I didn't sleep with anyone." Carter tells him.

"That's not true, dad told me that you knew that he was your mate since you were a teenager, and you just wanted to wait for him to turn seventeen." Quinton tells him, and Carter rolls his eyes, but he doesn't say anything else about it.

"Who are those people?" Haven asks me.

"Well, the guy that Quinton is arguing with is a former Alpha of the pack they your mate is from, and he also happens to be Quinton's father, or at least one of his fathers." I say.

"And that's one of the pack Doctors." I say.

Haven just nods, not knowing what to say.

I chuckle slightly, before I look at Jake, who's waking up right now.

"What happened?" He asks Carter, when he sees him.

"Your mate hit you on the head. Do you remember that?" Carter asks, and Jake takes a few seconds to think about it, before he nods in confirmation.

Then he glances at his mate, and he looks slightly scared of him, even though Haven's a human while he's a werewolf.
