Dom finished mixing the bleach so I sat on the bar stool so he could put it in my hair. We all had random conversations after he put it in and as we waited for it to set. Once it was set, me and Colson walked in the bus and to the bathroom where he helped me wash the bleach out.
Once we were finished, my hair was completely brown and I hated it. Me being me, I ran out of the bus as quickly as I could, Colson followed, and sat in the chair and then begged Dom to put the dye in my hair.
I bounced my leg up and down impatiently as he was dying my hair. When he finished, we had to wait 25 minutes for it to process or whatever it's called. Those minutes weren't too bad since I had my little family to talk to. At some point, the Parx boys came out of nowhere and we invited them to hang with us.
"Ooooh, pink and black!" Awsten says as he stood beside me. We talked about random things until my hair was ready to be washed out. I took a quick shower and changed into one of Dom's oversized shirts that I stole from his bag.
"Can one of you help me blow dry my hair!?" I yelled from the bathroom and Awsten came in and blow dried it for me.
"Woah, your hair so fluffy!" Awsten gasped as he finished. "Yeah, my hair does this sometimes after I dry it but you know what, I'm gonna keep it like this cause it looks cool."

We laughed and then walked back outside and just hung out, talking about nothing and everything at the same time.
We decided to go inside since the mosquitoes were starting to come out and that's where I fell asleep with my head on Awsten's lap. You can't blame me though because they were talking about global warming and I got bored so I just ended falling asleep on him.
Awsten's POV
I noticed Mars slowly start to doze off and they just ended up falling asleep and their head was on my lap. "That's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen," Colson said.
"What is?" I asked him.
He pointed to Mars and they were smiling in their sleep while mumbling something. "I didn't know they talked in their sleep," Tom said.
"Me neither and they slept in my bunk with me," Dom says after Mars muttered his name.
They continued mumbling things that I couldn't understand and smiling while we all stared at them. I couldn't help myself and I put my hand in their hair and played with it. Probably the softest thing I have ever felt. It's like those pillow sheets that are made from bamboo, maybe even softer.
They nuzzled into my touch and smiled even more. There was a blanket on the pillow of the couch and I grabbed it with my other hand and put it on them.
"Awsten," Mars mumbled and they leaned impossibly closer into my touch. I felt my cheeks go warm as a blush spread over them.
They stopped mumbling after a while and the others were talking again while I was still looking at Mar. I couldn't take my eyes off them as they smiled so brightly in their sleep.
"Hey Aws, we gotta head back to our bus now," Otto told me.
"But, can't I stay here with them," I pleaded.
"Ooooh somebody's got a crush," Geoff teased.
"What!? No, I just wanna stay here with them, it's not a crush." I didn't even believe myself. I knew I had feelings for Mars ever since I met them but I never thought it was a crush. Who am I kidding, of course it's a crush.
"Mhmm sure," Geoff rolled his eyes.
Mars moved around and mumbled my nickname. Once again, all my attention turned back towards them. I ran my hands through their hair and they smiled again and stopped moving around.
I looked back at Otto and Geoff who were both smirking. "You sure it's not a crush," Otto said, teasing. I rolled my eyes and sat back against the couch pillow while looking at Mars.
I didn't even know that I was into non-binary people but I never really tried to explore my sexuality before so, how would I know?
"Seriously though, we need to head back," Otto said and I sighed. I carefully lifted Mars' head off my leg and gently placed it on the couch before saying bye to everyone and leaving the bus with Otto and Geoff who were unsurprisingly, smirking again.
Dom's POV
I watched the way that Awsten carefully moved Mars and placed their head down. He definitely has a crush on them. Not that I mind really. He's a great kid and if Mars is into him as well, then I'd allow it.
Wow, this parenting thing is really starting to get to my head. I feel like it's been like this ever since their father tried to kidnap them. I've just been really protective of them.
"Whatcha thinking about?" Colson asked me.
"Just being a parent," I sighed.
He nodded before turning his attention to the tv that was still playing The Office.
Colson said goodbye to me and the boys before leaving the bus after the episode finished. Tom and Adam went to bed as well and turned all the lights off. Mars was on the couch across from me and I was watching them. I could see their smile falter and they started mumbling again but it sounded panicked and more alert than before.
I knew something was wrong and immediately rushed to their side. They mumbled my name and started crying. "Mars, wake up love," I shook them and they gasped as they woke up, their eyes filled with tears.
"Dom," they cried and wrapped their arms around me.
"Are you alright? What happened?"
"I-I had a nightmare that th-the judge voted against us and let m-my father t-take me back to that hell a-and he did all these hor-horrible things to me," they started sobbing and I hugged them tighter as if my life depended on it.
"Aww I'm so sorry, it was just a dream, there's no way that the judge could vote in his favor. We've got too much evidence. And like I told you before, if I ever see your father he's-"
"Dead, yeah I know," they laughed.
I chuckled "Yeah, he's dead. Do you wanna sleep in my bunk tonight?"
They nodded. "Please."
"Okay, let's go." I turned off the tv and then we walked to my bunk. I got in first and then they came in after. I wrapped them in my arms and said "I love you Mars."
"Love you too dad."
DAD!? THEY CALLED ME DAD!!! Oh my fuck!! I'm having a party in my head right now!!
Mars snuggled into me, probably not even aware of what they just said.
