I don't think it needs to be said, but I've already had the conversation with Nagato Yuki... Her entire explanation was too confusing for me to understand, but basically she and Haruhi are abnormal. No, I don't mean it in terms of personality. Haruhi, according to Nagato Yuki's explanation, is the potential for evolution itself. Nagoto's an alien that was sent here to observe Haruhi, and I'm apparently the one Haruhi chose.
I understood none of it. Even if what she said was true, I still wouldn't get it. How is Haruhi of all people the source for evolution?! Why is Nagato telling me all of this?! Why not tell Haruhi?! The answer she gave me was a confusing one...
"The majority of the Integrated Data Entity speculates that if Suzumiya Haruhi becomes aware of her own powers and existence, an unforeseen crisis might occur; hence, at this stage we have opted to continue observing."
That's what she told me. If Haruhi were to become aware of her own powers and existence, a huge crisis might occur. The problem is the huge contradiction in her statement. She says that Haruhi isn't aware of this, but she's been aware since the day I've met her. She even stated that she was a goddess that could alter the world! There's no way she isn't aware of this!
Surprisingly, Nagato Yuki thought the same thing...
"Yes. Even though I said that Suzumiya Haruhi was unaware of her existence or powers, that does not seem to be the case here. She appears to be fully aware of the situation surrounding her and us. There should be a crisis happening, but it is not. There's a contradiction here, so we still must observe her."
"If you know that then why are you telling me all of this? Haruhi already knows, so you don't have to keep anything a secret from her! She can do these things by herself, so why are you involving me?"
"I am not the one who is involving you. Haruhi Suzumiya is. She specifically chose you for whatever reason she had. Even though I can tell what kind of situation this is, it is still unclear to me because no evidence had been presented yet. It is nothing more than a theory, so I cannot provide any reason to why she chose you. I can only provide information based on the confirmations of the past and present."
In other words, nothing is confirmed. What she says could be proven wrong, so she can't really say she knows why Haruhi chose me. Great...
After explaining how the Integrated Data Entity was merely an observer, and that I was special to Haruhi, Nagato Yuki stated that she'll come to me whenever a crisis emerges.
Yeah, no... Count me out. I have enough on my plate as it is.
I quickly gave thanks for the tea and left her house. The rest, well, I'm sure you already know how it goes... I still finished the book that day.
The following day, something unusual happened again...

Mikuru dressed herself in a maid outfit for Haruhi. I expected Haruhi to have been the one to force it on Mikuru, but Mikuru herself stated that she put it on for Haruhi. She has to do this in order for Haruhi to help her, so she willingly puts up with this shame. I'd say Haruhi's being a little cruel here, but Mikuru still got herself into this. Even she knows that she has to take responsibility for her own actions.
