She heard the sound of heart monitors in her dreams for who knows how long. She felt the phantom weight of a dead hand in hers for just as long, the smell of too much disinfectant and sickness lingered everyday. And as much as Sabrina hated it, and herself for it; sometimes when Noah smiled she saw the face of another.
At first it comforted her in a strange way, having found a familiarity in the new love she found. Then when all the fog lifted, and in a nightmarish way Sabrina found herself replacing vital things about Noah with that ghost of her past; the comfort faded away. There she was again, in the middle of a hospital corridor wondering what now?
That question still stood. What now? What now?
Sabrina had to make peace with the fact that she didn't have any answers. And no matter how much she wanted it, the answers she needed were never with Noah.

Noah felt a shift between them long before she said anything. He knew their love had burned and torn through the sky and now it was crashing into the earth with an impact that would extinguish their light.
He knew better than to fight it off or try to rekindle a flame.
The story was written the moment they met gazes, the ending destined as soon as Noah saw the dimness in her eyes.
They were a weak structure, their walls crumbling from the storm in Sabrina's heart and when it all fell down; Noah wouldn't be able to put it back up again.
