it was the day of the entrance exam and Sonic was helping Jaune find his locker "Are you sure you put your stuff in 636?" asked the blue hedgehog.

"Why does this have to happen today," Jaune said in dismay

Jaune and Sonic looked for a couple of minutes but then they overheard Weiss talking to a tall redheaded girl in Spartan-like armour "So Pyrrha have you given any thought to whose team you would like to be on?" Asked Weiss

"Hm... I'm not quite sure, I was planning on letting the chips fall where they may." Pyrrha answered

"Well, I was thinking maybe we could be on a team together!" Suggested Weiss

Sonic was only half listening while he was helping Juane but he noticed his buddy had gone off to join the girl's conversation, Sonic decided he might as well join him.

"You know what else is great, me Jaune Arc, nice to meet you" Jaune introduced himself

"And I'm Sonic," said the hedgehog coming from behind Jaune

"you two again" Weiss cursed

"Nice to meet you, Juane and Sonic," said Pyrrha as she said this Sonic was looking up at her star-struck

"yeah yeah," Jaune said brushing Pyrrha "So, Weiss... couldn't help but overhear your fondness of me the other day, I've been hearing rumours about teams and I was thinking you and me would make a good one, what do you say"

"Actually, I think the teams are comprised of four students each," Pyrrha explained

"you don't say?" Jaune smiled "Well hot stuff, play your cards right and maybe join up with the winning team."

"Jaune, is it?" Weiss interrupted "Do you have any idea who you are talking to?"

"Not in the slightest, snow angel," Jaune answered

"she's on the front of every pumpkin Pete's marshmallow flakes box, cereal girl has won minstrel regional tournaments four years in a row!" Sonic blurted out finally mustering the courage to talk in front of his idol

"at least the rat's not a complete idiot" Weiss sighed

"yeah that's me sadly the cereal isn't very good for you" Pyrrha laughed

"So after hearing all that, do you really think you're in a position to ask her to be on your?" Weiss asked

"I guess not" Jaune sighed

"I for one think you'd make an excellent leader Jaune and Sonic it's always a pleasure to meet my fans"

"you're so cool, me, doughnut lord and pretzel lady all watched your last tournament together it was epic," said Sonic remembering the time just after he sent Robotnik to the mushroom world

Pyrrha let out a slight giggle "What creative nicknames" By this time Weiss had huffed off and the rest of them decided to make their way to the cliffside for the entrance exam.

Cliffside

All the students had gathered at the cliffside waiting then Professor Ozpin broke the silence "For years, you have trained to become warriors and today your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forrest"

"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumours about the assignment of teams well, allow us to put an end to your confusion, each of you will be given teammates, today" Goodwitch continued from Ozpin's speech
