Chapter 1

Vax softly snored as his mouth was slightly opened. It was a rare occurrence for him to be in such a deep sleep that Vex almost felt bad when she smacked him in the face with a pillow.

"Wake up, shithead!"

Vax jolted up from the bed prepared to fight whoever had awoken him. As the sleep cleared from his vision, he fully saw his sister staring down at him clutching a pillow in her hands. He released a loud groan turning back into his own pillow.

"Fuck off Vex," he shouted as best he could though his voice was muffled by the pillow. He felt another hard impact on the back of his head as Vex brought down the pillow once more.

"Get your ass up and dress. We have to leave in 30 minutes," she stated.

"No."

Smack

"Vex'ahila!" he grumbled turning over. "It's not my fault you decided to take a 9:00 am class."

"It was the only available time for the class, you know that."

Vax defeatedly sat up forcing himself to slowly wake up much to his dismay. "Aren't you business majors suppose to have afternoon class times?" Vex smacked him in the face once again causing him to fall backward back onto the bed from the sudden impact. Vax's expression was sour as he brought himself back up. "What was that for?"

Vex breathed out a sigh of annoyance at her brother, "I'm an accounting major for the 50th time, dim-wit." Of course, Vax knew what his sister's major was. They knew each other like the back of their hands. It was so painfully obvious that they were twins. Sure they had their moments of quarrel with each other, but nothing could separate the two of them.

They had already survived hell and back with each other.

Though that didn't stop them from teasing each other to gods ends.

"Oh yes, that's right!" he smirked, "I'm so looking forward to you doing my taxes in the future." Vex's left twitched slightly at his comment. She was about two seconds away from using her fist instead of a pillow on her brother. "Now, I'm sleeping for five more minutes," Vax concluded as he pulled his covers over his head again shutting his sister out.

Vex frowned for a moment before an idea popped into her brain causing her own smirk to form. "Alright, that's fine brother. Though, I'm sure you would like some company...Trinket!"

Loud stomps soon came running down the hall to Vax's room. A large brown dog came barreling down to his owner's side. Vax quickly uncovered himself spotting his sister's dog panting heavily with drool coming out of his mouth.

"Up Trinket!" she commanded with a wide grin.

"Vex, no!" Vax shouted but it was too late as the dog followed his command jumping up onto the bed on top of Vax. The dog easily weighed at least 140 pounds and he used it to his advantage as he began licking and drooling. "Down, Trinket, Down!" he feebly called out. He was only met with more licks and slobber across his face.

Vex giggled as Trinket had fun playing and watching Vax struggle underneath him. After a few more moments, she let out a whistle causing Trinket to cease perking up at her. With a look in her eyes, he jumped down returning to her side. Vax groaned as he was allowed to breathe properly again without the weight of the dog on him.

"You now have 25 minutes to get ready, brother dear. Oh...," she pointed at his disheveled hair and slobber-coated face, "You may want to take a shower for that." With that, she trailed out of his room with Trinket following just behind her.

"Fucking hell."

Vax let out a yawn as he pulled into the commuter parking lot of the university. It was surprisingly quite full as it was the first day. The number of students actually arriving for their morning classes would soon dwindle as the semester went on. The thought of another semester already made him internally groan. At least they only had two more years left.
