last christmas
IT WAS THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS, when Gemma sat next to her window waiting for any sign of Conrad Fisher. He had texted her on the same day asking her if she would want to go to Cousins' house with him. She thought he was joking, but when his name flashed on the FaceTime screen, as serious as ever, she knew it was for sure.
So there she was, bouncing her leg up and down, impatiently waiting for the boy. She had everything covered already, she had asked Tatum to cover for her and the girl just rolled her eyes and agreed. Her parents were in a friend's house for a Christmas dinner, they wouldn't see her leaving anyway.
Gemma had never been to Cousins Beach outside summer days, she was excited. They were coming back tomorrow in the afternoon so it wouldn't be suspicious to anyone.
Seeing the familiar car slowing down next to her house made the blonde girl jump from her spot and run downstairs. Her backpack had the essentials she would need for this cold weather. Entering the car she was met with a smiling Conrad Fisher.
"Where's your jacket?"
"Hello to you too, Connie." she mocks him "I've missed you too."
Shaking his head he chuckles lightly and eyes the girl next to him, she had a long sleeve baby blue shirt. Her cheeks and nose are slightly pink due the cold wind from outside.
"My jacket is in my bag," she motions to the backpack she threw in the backseat "I didn't think it was this cold."
Without another word, Conrad takes his sweater and hands it to the girl, who gratefully smiled at him.
"Are you ready?" he asks.
"Not sure, my parents might kill us both if they find out." Gemma chuckles and enjoys the warmth and his scent coming from the sweater.
"So let's make sure that they won't." Conrad winks and turns the car back on.

The car ride was silent, but in a good way. Gemma could enjoy the boy's company, she was focused on making something that Conrad couldn't really see.
"Do you think your parents will kill us if they find out where we are going to?" Conrad breaks the silence.
"Probably." Gemma shrugs, not being able to contain her chuckle from his expression. "But I wouldn't let them."
"Lovely, thank you."
"Although," she looks at him wiggling her eyebrows in a funny way, "I could tell them you kidnapped me, so they wouldn't get mad at me."
"Hey, hey! I have proof that you agreed on coming." Stopping at a red light, he turns at her, playful smile on his lips.
"I could say you seduced me." she bats her eyes at him in an innocent way, shaking his head and he looks away laughing.
