GEMMA'S HEART SANK WHEN SHE LOOKED OVER AT JEREMIAH, the boy was devastated. He ran upstairs, looking for something, anything. The group of friends shared sad looks, but when the blonde's blue eyes met Conrad's brown ones, she just wanted to comfort him, tell him that everything was going to be fine, but she didn't know that.

They heard a noise coming from the kitchen, they all knew who it was. When Conrad rushed to the room, Gemma could only expect the worst. The boy was followed by all the friends.

"What the fսck, Julia?" Conrad spat when his eyes landed on the blonde woman.

"I'm sorry. This must be such a shock." Julia says, her expression frustrated "I spoke to your father this afternoon, and he and I decided that it would be best not to drag this out any longer than necessary."

"I don't give a shit what the two of you decided on." the oldest Fisher boy said, his voice getting louder with each word "You had no right to touch anything in this house. Those were her things."

Gemma touched the boy's shoulder and he shrugged away from her, he didn't want to end up fighting with her.

"Everything's in storage. I made sure that everyone was very careful with every single thing. I'm just doing what I have to do to sell this house."

"Bullshit, you could have said something." Conrad scoffs "You could have warned us. All you want to do is fight our mom, constantly."

"Okay, enough." Julia's voice got loud and everyone looked at her, Gemma could feel the tension in the room "You're not the only one that's hurting here. And I'm not the one you should be angry with. Your mother could have warned you that this was gonna happen. She just wanted to make me the bad guy, as usual."

"I'm so sorry that she was too busy dying to make your life a little easier." Conrad spats and he knew he could've chosen better words to express his feelings, but he was so pissed off that he couldn't think straight. "You know, it sucks that our grandfather loved her more than you, but I'm not surprised."

With that said, the boy stormed out of the room, Gemma knew he was at the verge of a panic attack. Sending a knowing glare in Jeremiah's direction, she followed the older boy outside.

It didn't take long for her to find him, he was sitting on the small steps in front of the house. His head was in his hands. A sigh left Gemma's lips at the sight, she quietly made her way to the boy and she sat next to him.

"I'm not gonna ask if you're okay, but I'm just gonna talk." she says, almost like a whisper. "okay?"

Exhaling hard, the boy nodded. His eyes trained in front of him, on the ground.

"Did you know that ostriches are carnivores and it is extremely hard to get an egg from one?"

The boy looked at her, a confused expression on his face.
