The Mafia In Love

Part 7

Today was Sunday, and what did that mean? getting myself together. As soon as I returned from church, I changed into something comfortable and got into deep cleaning. My house was a wreck, my closet was so far the worst of all. Every week, choosing an outfit looked like I was going through a forest which only caused a mess. I didn't really have to do much in the other places because I was quite a clean person. 

After getting everything done, I made tea and ate with some bread to cool down my angry stomach. I brought out my book and simply started reading, I would have gone far in it if I didn't have to attend yesterday's outing. Speaking of outing, my thoughts started running wild, again. Ever since I found out who Dante was, I couldn't really get him out of my head. I was loosing my mind and it was pissing me off. Reading this book was my only chance of getting him out of my head and if it didnt work then I would be forced to take a freaking walk.

I groaned angrily as I forcefully closed the book. I couldn't even enjoy my resting time anymore. Now I seriously regret going. I rubbed my head stressfully; I needed a distraction from him. Just like God read my mind, I received a message from Reina. 'Wear something simple' and for once, I agreed with her. 

Once I finished putting on a simple black crop top with a blue boot cut jeans and a black boot, I made my way to the door. 

Luciana's car was parked outside with the two girls inside waiting for me. ''now don't you look sexy today?''. Reina complemented. I simply sent a smile as I got into the back seat. ''Reina was so certain you wouldn't agree to this but here you are''. Luciana said, smiling as she started the car. ''I needed to take my mind of things''. I replied, tiredly. 

''where are we going anyway?''. I asked as Luciana was driving to only heaven knows where. ''oh, we just wanted to have lunch. We haven't eating anything yet''. Reina answered. Well damn because I just ate not too long ago. ''I literally just ate before you guys texted''. I groaned on my seat. 

''Of course, you did. Food is the one thing you can never skip''. Reina teased which I simply ignored and rolled my eyes. 

We reached there faster than planned. We picked a table by the end side because it had less noise. Today seemed to be a bit packed. Reina and Luciana ordered burgers and fries while I simply ordered for a drink. If I ate again, I would definitely blow up.

When all that was settled, we diverted into a little chit chat as usual. ''Now that I remember. Lucy, can I ask a question?''. Reina said. I knew exactly what she wanted to ask and to be honest, I was thinking of a way to bring that up as well. ''go ahead''. She replied.

''How did you meet those friends of yours?''. I kept silent, waiting for her to answer the question. The question didn't seem to faze her though. 

''It was a really long time ago. I was around 11, I think. I had to go with my parents for this event I had no idea of. When I got there, my parents introduced me to them since they were around my age. I guess the friendship kicked off from there. Why do you ask though?''. 

Reina and I looked at each other. I could tell what she wanted to say next, it was written all over her face. ''Lucy, why didnt you tell us?''. She asked again. Luciana's face turned to that of confusion. ''tell you what?''. 

I think she forgot who they are. Heck, she's probably used to this. She herself comes from a rich home. This probably is something she deals with every day. ''that those friends of yours are actual celebrities. Have you seen the records about them online? do you realize that we had a casual conversation with one of the biggest businessmen in New York!''. 

I blocked my ears from Reina's ranting. She definitely didn't have to scream that loud because it sure got attention from other people. Heck, this was so embarrassing. 

''I thought you knew?''. Luciana said, clearly surprised of the outburst. ''how would we know?'' I pitched in. ''I don't know. Everyone I've met knew them so I assumed you would too''. She looked pretty sincere. Well, not everyone keeps up with the life of celebrities. I had better things to do than to be obsessing over people who knew nothing about my existence. Wait, now that I think about it, is this why I was receiving stares at school?

''who cares about that. I literally hung out with celebrities. What is better than that''. Reina said, dreamily, fluttering her eyes like her lash got stuck in them. This girl was a clown. It wasn't long before the food came, we thanked the waiter and began eating.

''speaking of yesterday, what exactly did you and Dante talk about?'' Luciana asked, looking at my direction I paused my drinking. As much as I didn't want this question to come up, I had a feeling it would. ''what do you mean?''.

''I mean, what did you guys talk about? with all the years I've known him, Dante never speaks to any woman like that, especially with the ones he just met''. Reina only had a smirk on her face. This girl was so annoying sometimes. What did we even talk about? it wasn't anything to important. ''It wasn't anything important. He just asked about my stay here, nothing too deep''. I replied, giving a short answer. Excluding the part when he was hitting on me.

''are you sure that's all that was said?''. Now it was my turn to frown. ''what are you talking about?''. 

Luciana suddenly had a sly smile on her face. What was she on about? ''I'm just asking because this morning before I picked up Reina, I was with them and I told them I was going out with my friends and he specifically asked of you, Willa''. 

I gasped as my eyes widened slightly. He asked of me? why would he ask of me? I was trying to convince myself that he was joking around. Heck, I even tried to forget it all. I was most certainly shocked at the information. He specifically asked about me, why? 

While I was still taking in the newly shocking information, Reina only let out a squeal of happiness. ''I just knew it. I knew he's into you''.

''I think that's a bit of a stretch, Reina''. I replied, trying not to believe her words. ''No Willa, I think she's right. Just think about it for a moment, he couldn't even take his eyes off you the whole time''. Luciana tripped in.

''don't forget, he quickly volunteered to help you with the drinks. Who knows, maybe he was just looking for a way to get you alone''. Reina spoke, wiggling her browns. 

I sighed. The last thing I needed was a man in my life. In fact, I avoided it all the time but just one outing ruined all my work because the way it's going, I don't think that's the last time I'm going to see him.
