Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Fate Breaker

(Ch. 3) New SS Mission

Sukia's body twitched before she awakened from her slumber. Her eyelids were heavy as she finally forced herself to sit up and groggily look around the room. It took her a few seconds to recognize she was in Faye's nurse's office. The Hatterene perked up as soon as she saw the Vulpix rise. "Sukia!" she exclaims and hurries to her side. "How are you feeling?"

"Uhh..." the Vulpix rubs her head. "I got a busting headache..."

Hatterene sighed in relief. "A headache is the least of your problems. You-"

It seemed that the moment Faye said Sukia's name, everybody heard Faye speak and almost every Pokémon in the guild rushed into the nurse's office to the point it was almost full to the brim.

"Sukia! You're awake!" her Rockruff friend looked like he was on the verge of tears. "I was so worried!"

"You had all of us worried," Riley said while patting Maxi's back.

"Thanks for saving me back there, if it wasn't for you and Mikah... but you didn't have to push yourself so hard!" Kai's gratitude quickly turned into a lecture. Shelly and Oliver also gave relieved and thankful smiles.

"I heard you fought valiantly! Well done." Arthur praised her as the Sirfetch'd lifted his grass sword up which was similar to humans toasting to a cheers.

"And so heroically!" Roxanne adds in from where she bounced in place beside her Gardevior and Tsreena teammates.

"That means the same thing, Roxy." Aria corrects the excited Loppuny.

Sukia couldn't even seem to get a word in. And by the time she attempted to speak up, Bandit marched up to her and gave her a big whack to the head. "OUCH! You lil- that hurt!" the Vulpix shouted at the Zorua.

"Good! You deserve it! How could you be so stupid?!" Bandit shouted at her, making all their guildmates go quiet and look away as the Zorua continued to bark angrily. "You took on Landorus on your own?! Do you not understand type matchups?! Let alone that cliff stunt you did with Landorus! I know it was to save Mikah and his family but you could've really died! Tell her, Faye!" Bandit looked at Faye but she remained silent as she stared down at the floor. Bandit looked back to Sukia and growled angrily. "She said that if Mikah and Team Blitz didn't return you here as soon as they did, then you would be dead right now!" Sukia stared at Bandit with wide eyes. She knew that she was pushing her limits, but she didn't realize how far she had gone. Once Bandit was done ranting, he quickly turned his back to her. "Don't do it again... loser." you could hear a little sniffle at the end of his words.

Sukia grinned when she heard the Zorua sniffle. He was clearly trying to fight back tears. "Don't worry, Ban-ban, I won't worry you like that ever again."

Everyone laughed as Bandit spun around with a deep blush and another angry shout. "I- I wasn't worried!"

Even Sukia chuckled as she watched him. It was entertaining and comforting knowing that even the Pokémon that she was always at odds with actually cared about her safety. Sukia's grin faded as she looked around, noticing some missing faces. "Where's Mikah? And the Chief?"

"Mikah and Team Blitz are reporting to Chief Frost and Zera in the chief's office." Maxi yipped. Sukia immediately tried to stand up and almost fell down doing so. "Don't push yourself!" Maxi quickly ran to her side, the Rockruff doing his best to support the weak Vulpix. But as expected, she quickly shouldered him off.

"I'm fine. I need to go see them," she says before running past her guildmates.

"Sukia!" Oliver called after her, just as startled as everyone else since she just got straight up and ran off after basically waking up from a coma.
