—60 years later (73 years since Percy left)—
-Percy PoV-
I was standing in the roof of a half-built 73 story building, just on the edge of the town Huntsville, in Alabama. I say half-built because I managed to manipulate the builders -using the mist- to stop building the walls on the 73rd level, just so I could stand here and admire the view in peace. My patrons had given me a couple of months off from helping the demigods demanding how I need a break.
Over the years, monsters learnt not to mess with me, so now I'm in peace all the time. Even if they are attacking a demigod who is on their way to camp, they will stop as soon as they see me. They don't know I'm Percy, they just know me as someone to fear. The campers and hunters have tried many times to talk to me, even trying to capture me in cages, nets or surrounding me with weapons. But they never succeed, they have gotten close though. However, I always just leave in a dramatic exit, like erupting in a column of flames or turning into mist and drifting away with the wind. They asked me who I was once, so I just replied with 'Canine', that way they wouldn't question me again, and they knew to fear a man known as Canine.
About 20 years after I supposedly died, I was told that the two camps combined into one, making a huge camp known as Camp Olympia. It combines the architecture of New Rome, as well as the cabins from Camp Half Blood, they tried to get the best aspects of both camps, like the Big House and such. There was trouble at first, but it calmed down over time as they worked out their differences, they eventually united as one. However, there are still fights every now and then, but thats between the cabins/parents, not the two camps. I only know all of this from what the two Goddesses have informed me of, they also gave me some Iris footage of things, they would show me one-way Iris messages whenever I got lonely or homesick, so I wouldn't disappear or go on any rampages. Because, even to this day when I go on a rampage, its hard to control me, even for the two who have been helping me along the way for so long. They are both like my adoptive mothers, we have just grown close over the years. Even if we don't act like it, we do love each other.
I was contemplating all of this, whilst sitting on the cold metal edge of the soon-to-be office building. I didn't even notice Lady Hestia, my adoptive mother of 60 years, sitting next to me. That is until she cleared her throat, making her presence known to me. I slowly moved away from the side of the building so that I could talk face-to-face with the goddess. I noticed Lady Hera wasn't here with her, yet I decided I wouldn't question it, I learnt early on in my life that some things are better to be left alone.
"Lady Hestia, how can I help? Am I finally off of this vacation?" I politely questioned, exaggerating the word 'vacation' seeing as I didn't request it.
"Well, Perseus-"
"Its Percy, just Percy, not Perseus" I interrupted, even after so long she never got my name right.
"And its Hestia for you, not Lady Hestia. Anyway, Not Perseus, your vacation is over, yes." She replied with a small smile, knowing how happy I was to finally be able to do something useful.
"Thank you! Oh, yes, thank you! So what demigod am I rescuing next?!" I practically screamed, from being so happy I didn't have to sit around being so bored for any longer. Most people hate work, but for an ADHD person like me, I hate sitting around 'thinking'.
"Well, ah- thats the thing... There was a new Great Prophecy out. Its the reason we gave you a vacation, so that you would be more relaxed and lady back about it all." She said, sounding rather nervous.
"So, what was the prophecy? Don't say its about me again." I said, dreading the idea of being in another big prophecy.
"Well, its not so much new, more of an old one that was forgotten about... Until the oracle said it to a certain daughter of Athena." She replied, getting quiter at the end. She knows I dislike talking about the people I left behind, simply because it reminds me of the memories I could have made, the life I could have lived. The things I missed out on, just because I didn't go back to camp after the incident all those years ago.
"Oh... So what is it?" I asked, just wanting to get this over with now.
"It goes like this;
An old friend
Back to deliver another end
A big plot twist
Covered by the mist
True love re-found
Helped by the oath-bound"
"Let me guess this one... I'm the 'old friend' and I have to kill someone which is the end being delivered. The big plot twist is that I'm alive, but also that I'm a werewolf, which is covered by the mist which Hera has manipulated to hide me from everyone and anyone. The true love part, means someone falls in love, but re-found suggests they do it again, probably someone of relation to me due to the other two lines most likely being about me... The oath-bound will be you and Lady Hera, most likely, as I have both of you oath-bound on my secret, of the fact that I'm alive, let alone my location. This sounds very self centred of me, but I really dislike having another great prophecy about me."
"That's right, or so her and I believe. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I know you want to keep your distance from everyone, to keep them safe, but... I think its time you go to Camp Olympia, Percy..."
A/N: I know its short, I'm sorry, but I just can't give too much away in one chapter! D;
At least you know he might be returning home at some point..? :)
Just now realising how often I update. I do this far too much... I just can't stop writing this story! (If theres any thing wrong, just let me know so I can improve it, I do try to proof-read but it gets hard!)
Enjoy!
PS - THE PROPHECY I WROTE IS SO BAD, HOW DO THEY MAKE THEM SO FLAWLESS?! OMG.
