The Meeting

Lloyd came into the monastery with a plan and a bit of guilt. He knew lying to his father was wrong, but what else could he do? If he told his father what was happening, his father would probably talk him out of it.

"Hey, Uncle, hey Dad," he quickly greeted.

"Hello, Lloyd. Remember that I told you-"

"I know, Dad, there's a girl staying in my room right now. I'll be nice." Lloyd rushed off to his room and opened the door.

Even though he knew a girl would be there, he couldn't stop himself from being a bit surprised.

You heard a door open. Maybe it was Wu!

You heard muffled voices. Then rather rushed footsteps.

The door opened.

It was not Wu. It was Lloyd Garmadon.

You stared at him for a moment. He stared back. Maybe if you just stay perfectly still...

What is he, a dinosaur!? That's not going to work!

"H-hi," you stuttered, kicking yourself, "I'm Glayde." He continued wordlessly watching you. Then something seemed to register and he quickly plastered a smile on his face.

Seemed green bean had his own shopkeeper facade. Or should you say ninja facade?

"Oh, I'm Lloyd. But I guess you probably knew that. You mind if I turned on the radio?" he asked, vaguely pointing in the general direction of the radio.

What kind of question is that? It's his room, he can do whatever he wants.

"No, not really," you shrugged. He turned it on, and it happened to be playing your favorite song.

Jump up, kick, back, whip around and spin,

You found yourself humming along. Lloyd looked up from his packing and smiled at you a bit.

"You like that song?" he asked.

"It's my favorite song!" you replied happily, excited you had something in common with Lloyd.

"Cool." He went to grab a weapon, but then seemed to hesitate. Maybe he wasn't allowed to take it wherever he was going.

Wait, what? He was packing earlier, where was he going?

"Are you going somewhere?" you questioned. He suddenly got tense.

"No! Well, yeah, but not for long!" Hm. How suspicious. Of course, what the ninja do is not any of your business. You went back to humming.

Just then, Sensei Garmadon opened the door. He glanced between you and Lloyd and looked pleased.

"I see you two have met. Lloyd, I was just on my way to help Nya and Wu restore the Bounty-"

"He's back!?" you said loudly, standing up suddenly.

That slimy little...

He'd probably been back for hours! HE PROBABLY NEVER LEFT! He got Kyle worried for nothing! He- he...

Lloyd and Garmadon were watching you curiously. You silently sat down.

"Um, sorry. Please continue," you mumbled. Garmadon gave you slightly amused expression before turning back to Lloyd.

"So, as I was saying, I was just on my way to help Nya and Wu restore the Bounty. Would you like to join? Guess you could say it's all hands on deck."

Kyle was now no longer the only person in your life to make dad jokes.

"Uh, sorry, the guys and I are going fishing. Team building exercise," Lloyd lied. You snickered. He needed to work on his ninja facade.

"Hm, good to hear the team's back together," Garmadon commented. You goggled at Garmadon. He doesn't actually believe this, does he? He turned to leave, but Lloyd suddenly went to stop him.

"Dad? Our elemental power..." Lloyd began. "Are there others out there with powers like us?" Wow! What a suspicious question!

Garmadon finally got suspicious. He stood up, very alert, and inquired, "Why would you ask?"

"No reason. It was just on my mind," Lloyd replied. Garmadon's eyes seemed to shift to a noodle box sitting on the floor.

"See ya. Early bird catches the worm." Lloyd left. Without a fishing pole.

It's safe to assume Lloyd was not going fishing.

Garmadon's eyes flitted to the noodle box on the ground, and he muttered something that sounded like, "Ben".

Okay, the ninja and all the people they work with are weird.
