"I ain't gon carry those for the whole day ! At least take one ?" Ekko exclaimed confused as Jinx was dragging him to a bookstore she noticed when they left the fast food. Her self love for books pushed her to immediately chose their next destination as Ekko only wanted to be free of these shopping bags that he had been carrying for quite a moment now. "Blah blah blah, less talking more walking please." She rolled her eyes as she slammed her hand on his mouth Ekko's eyes opened wide as he was ready to get revenge on her but they already made it to the front door of the store. "You know what, you can stay here I'll be in the mall, just call me if—"

"What ? No !" Jinx was slowly growing surprised and reluctant as Ekko was talking, she didn't want to stay alone, well there were other people but they weren't Ekko. "You're coming with me." She said furrowing her eyebrows and Ekko couldn't help but find the situation funny looking at her petite figure that was supposed to be threatening at the moment. "I'm not a reader." He scoffed shaking his head as she raised an eyebrow at his answer. "You're not a liar either, remember you promised to not leave me." She said in an innocent tone fluttering her eyelashes. They started an eye staring contest, Jinx slightly leaning her head to the left while pouting as Ekko took a deep breath trying to not let her win. The challenge actually lasted longer than Jinx thought it would, her father lost those in like 15 seconds so how was Ekko so strong ?

Noticing her puzzled almost offended face, Ekko smirked. "I'll be in the mall." He then repeated making sure to articulate as Jinx sighed in defeat. He watched her turn her back and walk further in the store and when she disappeared of his sight, he left as well.

Jinx's eyes wandered through the different books on the shelving units while mentally cussing her friend. Despite her father's library being pretty big, there weren't as many books as in here and she was quite impressed, her lips parting as she observed totally new themes she wouldn't ever see at home. There was actually so much things that she didn't know where to start, so as her looks paused on a woman standing behind a checkout, she went to her for advice. "Hi !" She said slamming her hands on the table, causing the old woman to flinch. She put a hand on her chest breathing out before clearing her throat. "What can I do for you ?" She asked.

"What do girls my age like to read ?" Jinx said leaning in closer to the woman as she genuinely was curious, she'd only be reading the same old educational, adventures or romances books for years and she quite had enough. "Oh.. you might want to check the young adult section on your right." She pointed as Jinx turned around to see where it was situated. "Thank you grandma !" She winked bouncing away.

As her eyes quickly analysed every books cover, Jinx was getting confused and surprised. "People actually enjoy reading stories about a half dog and a girl ?" She scoffed staring at a werewolf story as she shook her head going to the next books. Her eyes finally flashed on one specific book called « My Firsts » she curiously got closer and took it in hands, observing both sides. On the cover was a woman touching a bare chest man, and Jinx was no kid, she knew people could get intimate she just never knew the details of it because everything is « secured » at her house, her father want to keep her soul innocent but Jinx was curious about boys, and this book could get her to see how it went on the outside world, so she sat down, and started focusing on reading the book.

It was now 7pm, Ekko was walking back to the bookstore, carrying the four bags on his shoulder returning from the mall. He had been nothing but taking a new cell phone plan for Jinx as he had taken off the chip from her phone and bought her a new one for the mean time because that rich man could be tracking them with that. As he arrived in front, he was surprised to find Jinx standing outside, yelling at a security guard so he hurried to them to understand the situation.
