-Help! I can't stop writing!-

Jimmy PoV

A sharp beeping noise cut through Jimmy's peaceful slumber, jolting him back to reality. He reached for his alarm, hitting the off button, before pushing himself out of bed. The smell of pancakes wafted up the stairway. Before he left his room, he hastily threw on clothes and shoved his laptop, books, and homework in his bag. At the last minute, he threw the medallion into his pocket. Jimmy knew Lizzie had told him not to let anyone else see it, but something told him that leaving it at home was a bad idea. Slinging his bag over his shoulders, he made his way downstairs.

"Good morning Jimmy!"

Joel smiled at him, continuing to flip pancakes and slide them onto plates.

"Morning Joel!"

Lizzie already sat at the table, nearly finished with her stack. Jimmy grabbed one of the plates and sat beside her.

"Good morning Lizzie!"

"Good morning dearest brother! Eat quickly or you'll be late for school!"

"Can do!"

Jimmy wolfed down his pancakes, stopping only to drink a glass of water. As soon as he finished, he was out the door, racing to catch the bus.

"Bye Lizzie, bye Joel!"

When he finally reached the bus, he slid into the seat next to his best friend, Pearl.

"Hi Jimmy!"

"Hello Pearl!"

He felt the medallion in his pocket grow warm, and he had to fight the urge to pull it out to see what was wrong.

"Did you hear the news?"

Jimmy blinked at her, confused.

"What news?"

Pearl leaned in, lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper.

"We're getting new students today!"

"What!"

"Yeah, and some people say that they're royalty!"

Jimmy scoffed.

"Yeah right, why would any royalty want to come to our school. It's not as if we stand out for academics or sports."

Pearl pouted.

"Ok spoilsport."

She punched him lightly in the shoulder.

The bus pulled up next to their school, the doors hissing open. The students filed out of the bus, murmuring and chattering to each other. At his locker, Jimmy waved goodbye to Pearl, grabbing the books that he needed for his first periods and shoving the rest in his locker.

His first encounter with the new students, was in the cafeteria. He had already bought his lunch, and was sitting at Pearl and his usual table, when a girl with fiery orange hair walked up to them. A boy with similarly bright, though shorter, hair, sidled up behind her.

"Hi, my name is Gem, this is my twin, Fwhip. Is it okay if we sit here?"

Jimmy smiled at them, motioning for them to sit.

"Of course!"

Pearl had an expression of extreme curiosity on her face.

"So are you the new students we've heard so much about?"

Jimmy shot her a glare, but Gem didn't seem offended, simply laughing the weird question off.

"The one and only-er two, and only!"
