Sunday rolled along and so did the beauty of nature.
I woke up to a mixture of Gwen's (the other camp councilor's) phone alarm and the birds chirping outside of our little wood building.
"Gooooood morning, gals! Oh, and Campe Diem!" Says David as he solutes the flag outside of our window, already dressed and ready for the days upbringings.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes... give me one moment..." I reply to him, and once I change we immediately walk around the facilities.
"Here's this, and that! You must remember all of these things though from when we were teens, nothing has changed besides some additions for more camp activities!"
We continue walking, and afterwards we go to the mess hall for lunch. Gwen was working today and it was David's day off, so he decided to stay by me.
The food somehow had gotten worse, even though it was made by the same person.
"Wow... you were right, not much has changed huh."
You say, smiling as you choke down your food.
"Exactly! Not even you, y/n! You are still so..."
David goes quiet enough to where I don't hear the rest of the sentence.
"Excuse me?" I say, trying the get him to repeat.
His body shoots up and he turns bright red.
"I-I'm sorry! Forget it! Let's move on the next thing I want to show you."
You decide to not bother the already frozen man with more questions and walk towards the door, opening it.
"O-Okay then. After you, sir!"
You watch him as he jogs over, almost running into you.
"T-Thanks, y/n. I've missed you, you know!"
"R-really?" Now it's my turn to blush. I make sure to hide my face so he doesn't see.
As you walk, you are more paying attention to the man beside you.
Davey, the short, annoying teen. Was here, but kind and even more into the camp than he was after winning the one competition with Jasper. Walking together, our legs slowing started moving in sync, and so did our eyes. When I glanced back over, he turned at the exact same time.
"O-oh!"
He looked away quickly and cleared his throat, but you stayed looking. You couldn't handle it, he was so perfect.
He led you to a few more areas before it was turning into night. Now it was your turn to lead him somewhere.
