On the hike here, you noticed an old run down park, with a bench. Memories flooded back of sneaking out and hanging out to see the stars in the sky while on that bench. A few times, you snuck out with David too, so maybe he'd remember.
"Oooookay! I can't wait to see." He said though got more confused the farther we strayed from camp. We made it safely to the bench and sat down.
"Do you remember?" I asked him, "Do you remember watching the night fall and the stars form in the sky? I used to watch it from here, sometimes you would come!" I chuckle and blush, looking into his eyes for a response.
"Golly, y/n. It's been so long I completely forgot! Is that what we're doing tonight?"
"If... you want?"
...
"Of course" He says and smiled at me warmly.

We waited and watched the sun go down, I move my hand over a little bit but then feel david doing the same. We both freeze with our hands barely touching each others. "May I...?" He whispers.
I smile and I feel him hold my hand in his.
It's warm but soft, I feel at home and relax as the night takes over the sky.
I look over at him and smile again, I try to talk but no words could come out. Suddenly, his voice fills the empty, dark space.
"y/n... I've liked you for a long time. I sort of wish I told you a heck of a along time ago! If only I knew you would come back. I-i'm sorry if this is a lot to take on but-" David rambles on.
"It's okay! I like you... too..." I reply, as I start to play with the the small tear in my pants.
"May I kiss you..?" He says while looking away.
"W-What?!" I say, shocked but not displeased.
"Um!! Sorry, golly that was a lot I-"
"Hm!"
I cup his face in my hands, looking into his eyes.
He looked terrified by his own previous comment, hoping he didn't ruin anything. We used to be friends, but could we ever be more?
