Questions and Feelings

"Um... Well I wasn't paying attention since I finally figured out how to help Harrison with his missing sibling. If anything though, he's probably on his way to Spooky Island."
Neil says, already losing focus on this conversation. 
"Good Luck!" Says David, who had no clue what Neil was going on about. Soon David was running to the area with the canoes.
I sat in bed, waiting for Davids return, nervously.
Finally, he sees Max sitting in one of the old canoes while holding himself tight.
"Max...?"
"David?! Go away, this is none of your business." Max replies, as he starts to mumble.
"As your camp councilor it is my business to keep all our campers happy. What's wrong?" David says, looking at Max with anticipation.
"I just. Don't like the new councilor."
"Why?! Did they do something you didn't like?"
"I... I don't know." Max says, still holding himself tight.
David starts to think he understands the situation.
"I just don't really like how they are getting more of your attention. You didn't hear that though!" Max starts to lose tension in his body, just staring at David now.
"I'm sorry Max, but it's our new worker and my friend. Everything else will stay the same, pal!" David replies, putting his arms out.
Max gets up and quickly hugs him, "Thanks, yeah okay. See you tomorrow, camp man."
As he walks away, David starts walking back as well, smiling to himself.
Feeling accomplished, he goes and opens the door. As soon as he got in to the cabin he got greeted with a hug from me.
"David... what are we?" I ask him, looking slightly up at him.
"Um... what do you mean, y/n?"
I continue to talk, stuttering and anxiously fidgeting with my fingers.
"Well... with the other day... I'm not sure what's going on. We both... you know... like each other."
Davids face turns completely red, he had no words "Uh...".
"What I'm trying to say is... David. Would you be my boyfriend...?"
