Chapter 2 - I want- er- need...an answer

Six days after Simon and Niko leave home for active duty....

Somewhere, Georgia

Niko and Simon ride in an armored transport vehicle to a building that's supposed to be housing the United Senate. Once the vehicle comes to a complete stop, the brothers hop out and guard the entrance to the building as the senators begin to arrive.

Senator Bongdon
"The Valentine brothers! Good to see you both back on duty!"

Simon Valentine
"Thank you sir, it's an honor."

Senator Bongdon
"Save it for the wine, yeah!? Ha!"

Bongdon heads inside. Niko glances at Simon.

Niko Valentine
"So far so good."

Simon Valentine
"No unusual movement."

Niko and Simon's lieutenant walk up the small stairs towards the entrance before stopping to look at the two.

LT. Stiles
"You two know the drill, classic security, nobody in or out without proper clearance from me. Now I know you boys are marines, not the security type, but get used to it. You're a good unit, and the marines are better than the wingmen. We don't want them guarding these sacred doors with their mounted miniguns."

Both Simon and Niko
"yes, sir."

LT. Stiles
"I'll signal you when we're ready."

Stiles heads inside.

Simon Valentine
"This is gonna be a long day."

Niko Valentine
"You're telling me. I wish we were back on the frontlines already."

Simon Valentine
"I wouldn't get too excited brother."

Niko Valentine
"He barely knows anything...lieutenant Stiles. He's in the dark, same as everyone else."

Simon Valentine
"As long as you and I are on the same page, we can figure this out on our own. I have someone back at the Fort. He says he can try to contact a few insiders about the war."

Niko Valentine
"We be discreet."

Simon Valentine
"Yeah...yeah, right. I'll let you know if anything comes up."

A few hours go by, Simon and Niko standing at the United senate's building the entire time. Not much occurs for them to get some action, but a mysterious figure starts to approach the entrance. Niko lays his eyes on the figure, but Simon seems too excited...

Unknown Woman
"Hello gentlemen, I'm expected."

Niko looks at Simon before acknowledging the mysterious visitor.

Niko Valentine
"Sorry ma'am, we have strict orders not to let anyone in or out. You'll have to wait for the session to be over."

Unknown Woman
"I'm here to see Senator Joseph."

Niko Valentine
"Again...ma'am, things are happening inside the building. You aren't authorized to enter."
